I dont like a lot that game-save downloads are possible in this game.

It would not matter me at all if it would be only cars, but cause you can have all the licences too then, I'm sure that is one of biggest reasons why some Expert-events are full of kids with no real racing manners.

PD should never put those things in same file. Everybody should do their licences themselves, and that way they could learn to be better drivers.
Why could not your Licences being saved to your PSN ID-account or something like that... lets hope Full Version does that issue better.

One of my friends somehow lost his files, and needed to start from beginning. He was very depressed about that, so I told him there is easier way too. He downloaded somebodys full Game-save, and was happy again.

So I admit, there is not always ask about lazyness or poor-driver, when you want to somebodys else Game-save.

My suggestion: Christmas is coming soon, and thousands and thousands kids will get their PS3 and GT5P!

So that Expert-events wouldn't be ruined few days after that, I would suggest to move that download-thread behind GTP-members area only.

I'm afraid that hundreds of lazy and unpatient newbies will find these great sites first from Google, and then download licences to their machines.

I know they will find their way anyway, but lets not do it too easy for them...please.

I see what you mean, people will want to fast track their GT5P progress and get loads of cars and all the licences for xmas without doing anything then be a nightmare on the track!

I don't think PD would ever separate the saves into cars saved to the HDD and carrier progress / licences to your PSNID because it would be a pain for someone to have to start all over again just because they changed their PSN account.

As for moving the download section thats up to Jordan but I do see the potential problem your rasing.

Robin.

Kids don't want GT5P. It's old now, and there's no explosions, guns or bodykits in it.

Would you rather they found it here, in a community where we laud good, clean drivers, or at some random file download site from which they can learn nothing?

Well that's good points too.

I have no idea, how many different places it could be downloaded from, but I assume there must be a lot of those actually.

Lets hope the best, and be afraid of worst... fact is, after X-mas there propably will be new drivers a lot. I saw in my local second-hand gamestore many copies of GT5P 14,99€ :(

There's some people who are going to get all the goods, and play the game for a day or two, and move on to other things. And then there's the more serious fans of the game or genre that are within a gnat's whisker of completing S-10 or some other test or race. Or someone accidentally deletes the information on their PS3 or a memory card. We can't discriminate on who gets the download.

When I first joined the GT community in early 2001, I thought nobody would share a car's set-up or give tips on how to set-up cars, lest any advantage would be given to competitors. (And that's before I'd heard of online racing events in GT.) Instead, it's just the opposite; many more people are willing to help and share than those who do not.

I don't blame people for guarding their secrets and those for helping others. But we provide this service, and people can choose to spoil the results of the game, or get help when they need it. How is this any different than a prize car list, or future listings of cars that may be in the game, or tips on how to use a racing line and using weight transfer to your advantage, without discovering them all for yourself?

The point is, there is no difference. You, and anyone else, can make the decision how to play the game, or decide to discover the inner workings of the game for themselves, or any combination of the two that they choose.

I just wanted so much, that Expert-events would be somehow safe from idiots without any racing-etiquette. Infact, I dont suffer rammers a lot, but I feel sorry for so many others who are complaining.

In my mind, GT-sites are almost only sites, so I ofcourse were thinking all the kids are here 25.12...

Some of them will be, so lets hope they are not too excited to consentrate all the other great stuff here, and realize this game is bigger than life any other driving-games.

For the record, you already have to be a GTP member to download any files attached to posts here. Sure, it's not going to stop someone who really wants them, but it does require a bit of effort on their part. And who knows - maybe we'll get an active new participant in the community out of it!

On the subject of saved game downloads: I've actually seen our saved games being sold on eBay. I recall one auction that reached $15.

You have to be member to download any files... oh, that I did not know. I thought those are allowed for any visitors... well that's quite like what I first were hoping, before other Moderators gave me different point of views about that issue.

...and about that wish, about new participants. That ofcourse would be best solution. Rammer-kid, who comes here to download ready file, and gets interested of this game deeper because these sites, and turns out to be honourable racer!

I have received some e-mails from 'newbies', who have bought GT5P and started to play it without bigger thinking about racing manners. They have had mentality like, 'winning is everything'... dont know how these few guys found my YouTube-videos about my races with other members, but one guy said that after watching few of those, it opened his eyes what is this all about.

He said he felt ashamed about his doings, and started all over again with same rules like we have, and have much more fun now. That kind of feedback really felt good.

Lets wish samekind of effect happens so many newbies as possible, after christmas! There is never enough quality racers on tracks.

Well, winning is everything in the GT world, since most prize cars are awarded on the basis of finishing first (or at least, winning the championship). The game does not end, it just goes on and on...

The online stuff is what it is; people are going to find ways to cheat in all sorts of other online games, whether though additional codes or less sporting means of doing so.
