Is it possible to create hybrids with this thing? I picked one up the other day, but I have'nt figured it out yet. The instruction manual is pretty vague, but if anybody has tips for using it, that would be helpful. Pretty much what I want are the prize cars and hidden cars for GT3, and some hybriding.

I picked up a "Gamecodes Gameshark" today, and I'm a bit disappointed. I bought it because I read you could zip Memory Card files, and you can.

Anyway, I figured since I used to make hybrids in GT2 on my PSX, I'd give it a shot. I added a cheat code to get the Lancia Stratos, and it saved the code to my memory card. Now, when I go into the game list and try to select the code I want, it won't let me highlight it. All it does is flashes, then goes back to white... So I have no idea WTF is going on.

Ok, I just got it to work.

Basically, what I did wrong was, when I added the Body/Name codes for the Lancia Stratos, I added a new game first. That didn't work. So, I went into the actual Gran Turismo 3 code selection and added the codes there. That worked.

I picked up an MR2 GT-S, fully modified in, then saved my game so that the MR2 was in the first slot. Then, I went into the Gameshark and added the codes. When I restarted GT3, the MR2 was now the Lancia Stratos. The engine, and all mods were still the MR2 mods, but the name of the car, and the body, were the Lancia Stratos.

Yes, the Gamecodes Gameshark will work - thank god. :D

There is the website for the Hybrid info.

Do you have a Sharkport or Xport?

I don't have an Xport or Sharkport ATM...

Mine doesn't work that way... what I tried first was to enter the codes for the body of the 911 GT3 onto the Ruf RGT just to test out this crappy ass GS V5. Didn't work. Actually, I never got into the game. The code was not selectable in the gameshark interface. It said it was not valid. Well, I searched around and realized that GS V5 addes a single line of code to the old GSV3-V4 format... but whatever

I'm curious what code you used that made changes to the car in the first garage slot. If you could post that up, that would be seriously cool...

want to make a 400hp RWD Hayabusa powered Mini Cooper :D Can be found in the September 2004 issue of EVO magazine.

edit: I'm gonna go to the gameshark website and find one of the codes that multiplies the power for the car in the first garage slot, and take that first line of code ( 7xxx xxxx 0000 0000 ) and plop that on top of the spoon civic type r engine computer code, and see if my mini revs to 12K... then I'll know it works.

I'm gonna try these....

with the 1st garage slot line of code... it would be...

Spoon Civic Type-R ROM

760B8DCO 00000000
1C0413E8 1456E7A5
1C04138C 5497A0A2

Lotus Elise 190 drivetrain (MR)

760B8DC0 00000000
1C041388 38FD43F3
1C04138C 5497A0A2

That's only 2 of the codes though... there's more I need to finish the whole car... maybe, if it works, and when I'm done I'll post up the codes to create your own Hayabusa Mini Cooper.

I'm gonna give these a try and see what happens. My PS2 will probably blow up, and then I'll have (another) reason to be angry at InterAct. :indiff:
