I wouldn't have my hopes up, if a trailer wasn't shown in the conference, most likely we won't see anything until TGS.
EDIT: But we can expect video or photos of the demo booths taken with cell phones, or some kind of report of new stuff seen there by a visitor. And maybe we can see an interview in the following days but KY rarely gives something away in interviews.

Changing storys, i don't buy it, there would be some evidence of it written or leaked somewhere else, the internet is like the plague, especially when it come to gt.
I doubt there would be a release date a month before TGS, but we shouldn't count out getting SOMETHING, especially seeing as they have a feature list that is supposed to be in conjunction with something at GC.
