Gamestop Preorder Codes

My friend told me that a guy that worked at gamestop told him that sony told gamestop to give them the codes back bc the people who hacked got all the codes and the codes we have from preorders wont work at all when the store is back up. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this or is it BS?



Im just wanting to clarify this with my friend, not here to cause trouble or anything. Sorry if this confused anyone.
 
I would think that would be true. But I am totally guessing. But logically the codes have to be stored on Sony servers, so they may have been compromised.
 
1. Why does it matter.
2. Why would you not believe your friend but believe a total stranger on a forum?
3. Why not just ask Gamestop yourself?

Sorry if that sounds harsh but there is probably tons of behind-the-scenes actions in wake of the network outage. Why are you concerned about whether codes for games that did not release yet are being changed? I mean your still going to get the code either way, right?
