I have a few versions of basically the same car. Sometimes HP ratings will tell me which car I might be looking for. I have about 6 or 7 Shelby Mustangs. With different upgrades because I'm racing in one on-line....testing one for parts selection purposes...considering a racing series with real life rules and testing it...etc. I wish there was some way to have an empty column for "naming" a car that could be sorted just like the other columns...I could name a car "AMC" for American Muscle Championship or "Max" for a totaly maxed out car or "AI" or "AIX" for cars "built" to American Iron or American Iron Extreme specifications. If this car was available in more than one color that would help. As it is I have to actually get in the cars to see how they're set up.

sorry for bringing back a 5 year old thread :P
but i want to ask the same question and didnt see any Ansell, will we be abel to name cars? or put them in custom garages?

thanks

Name cars no. I don't see why they would implement such feature.

Put them in custom garages... I don't know. But there are many options to sort your cars in the garage view. Isn't that enough for you? What exactly do you have in mind?

[EDIT: Well, SrRd-RacinG answered you better than me :D. I was writing when he posted.]

i was hoping to have custom garages for diffrent set ups
like:
a drift garage
a favourites garage
a garage for cars that are still work in progress
a garage for cars you will probably never drive but just want to collect

stuff like that, oh well thanks for the help

If you look at the screenshots that are in that link that was posted, you'll see you can favorite a car. There's a favorites tab, and online tab. If worse comes to worse, take some of the cars and paint them a different color. If you don't want to resort to that, tough luck.

I was honestly thinking of that feature a few days ago. I personally would love it, as goixoye mentioned I too have multiple numbers of the same cars, for different set-ups like for certain tracks, events, degree of tuning and of coarse a stock car with N's or S's. But I kinda doubt thats happening and Im liking this "Favorites" page, but it would help me out tremendously when selecting certain vehicles with such minimal effort.

Some help has arrived; click on the images of the garage pics.

It says you can search by model, make, year, etc or put them into your "favorites" category. See the tabs on the left hand side?

I think the favorites tab will contain the most used cars, not ones you select to put there.
Though the ONLINE tab would suggest that you can either add them there or that you unlock the separately for online and offline.
Erm, nevermind............

But gt psp allowed you to pick your own favorites

Why wouldn't the game let you pick your favorites?

I'm sorry sir, THIS is your favorite car, SAYS THE GAME!

If you drive a car more often than others, would the game not know it's your favorite? I didn't say it would take random cars from you garage and just put them under that tab.

But gt psp allowed you to pick your own favorites

Didn't know that. Good to know.

GT4 had favourites in it's Arcade mode, these were user selected.

The American OP has a V8 supercar as his avatar, a sentence I never expected to ever say in my life.

you can buy different rims/spoilers for each car as a visual mod to help distinguish them if you have limited paint options.

why have 3 separate cars in different states of tune? when you can just use the A. B.or.C setting in the tuning menu use A for high speed track's B for handling track's C for drift. all from 1 car

That is the best option and I hope they go with that for all tuning, not just quicktune which I very much hope is totally dropped in GT mode.

We would then need a way to undo permanent mods like weight reductions, roll cage, engine mods...

Since the engine will have wear and tear (engine reconstruction icon in GT Auto), it is a possibility that we could be able to buy a stock spare engine. I'm afraid weight reductions and roll cage will be definitive, though.

There were little drop down menu's in GT4 for this, though I think weight reduction was irreversible.

The ability to view the cars in the list is much improved over GT4.

Don't know if this has been noticed before (I imagine it has) but look at the left of the picture :
the list is separated between Premium, standard, favorites and online. 👍

THat's pretty much what the whole thread is about.

Yeah, that's crazy to see a V-8 Muscle fan in the US..

/sarcasm..:)

Why seperate Online?

Standard and Premium is obivous, Favourites speeds up getting the cars you like to use often... why would you need a separate list for online? Surely if they were cars you used often they'd be on you favourites?

You didn't even bother to read the first page of this thread?

One thing of notice, there seems to be no references to performance points, similar to what was used in Prologue.
I would assume if the system was intended to be kept, that there would be a way to filter what cars to use. :)
