So I have a regular racing group and we have one race that I call an "efficiency run". You take the Tesla on the Circuit de la Sierra. There is just enough juice to make one lap if you aren't a leadfoot.

So I'm looking to set up other races where you can run out of fuel and I'm looking for cars as candidates. Can you suggest cars that really suck down the fuel? (I have my room set to very fast for the tire and fuel usage).

Thanks in advance for useful suggestions

High powered cars with a lot of wheelspin or any race car with full downforce will suck down on fuel pretty quick.

I think weight do affect fuel consumption depend on car spec. Heavier car did suck fuel quick than lightest car will suck fuel slow.

125 Shifter Kart has a very small tank and does not go very far when Very Fast Wear is on.

The Pikes Peak e-runner (although it isn't gas). It gets halfway around SSRX on very fast fuel and tyre wear. It's hilarious.

You'd want something big, heavy and fast. A Bugatti Veyron with 200 kg ballast and 1200 BHP will consume 100 liters of fuel in less than 10 minutes if you keep up the pace (tested on Red Bull Ring). On a track with long straights it's probably going to take even less time.

Mercedes-Benz also have a lot of heavy cars with big engines, and the Jaguar XFR is probably pretty good at consuming fuel.

The 2004 Dodge Ram is definite. One lap around the Nurburgring has you already running under slightly half.

I tried a lot of cars and followed up on a lot of suggestions here (thanks!) and while I won't say it is definitive, the car I've selected is the 2013 Ford/Shelby Cobra 500. Next week we'll try full Grand Valley for 7 laps with fuel and tire wear at very fast. I think that should put the line in reach where prudent driving will take you to the end and flat out will empty the tank.

The Sauber Mercedes must have a feul leak or something (joking :D) because it is out of fuel after 2 laps on Sarthe.

Try the Ayrton Senna Lotus 97T. Use race hard tyres and set the power limiter to 800bhp for a more realistic experience.

How about a car with an extremely peaky hi-RPM turbo? Say, the Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Coupe or the Mazda RX-8 Type S. That should provide some entertainment. Would you stay at low RPM to save fuel, but in turn drive really slow? Or open the throttle and go as fast as you can, but cry as you watch that fuel gauge go down faster that it should?

Fully maxed out Bugatti Veyron would be the ulitmate guzzler. It has almost 1400 hp, and weighs over two tons.

So I took a few of the suggestions and tested them:

The Sauber-Mercedes burns fuel a little less fast than the previous king, the Ford Shelby Cobra 500.

However, the Veyron is the new king. (we race the cars bone-spec, only oil changes permitted)
