Has me wondering about the "best" method for setting the final drive vs. the individual gears.

My guess is set the rearend based on the prevailing requirement of the course and then set the individual gears to max out at the end of certain sections or provide better acceleration off certain corners. How close am I?

Need advice here!

There is no set rule ... Different tracks will show up different results, all you can do is run lap times on several different tracks and seeing what set up gives you the best lap time overall. I personally wont bother with each individual gear, shall stick to final drive as it is working like a charm so far.

IMO what you plan on doing is along the right lines, thats how I'd do it anyway.

thats how i always did it. set the gears for the cars power band, then set final drive to suite the track.
