ASOT 166 started off great this week with Keo - Close Enough (Noel Sanger Remix). This tune has grown on me, I really like it, the background instruments are euphoric. If you take a liking towards Chicane, you'll like it too.

Anyone care to recommend a few discs for a casual listener?

I was given a couple of Groove Armada discs as a gift... Lovebox and Vertigo and I liked them okay. I also have a copy of Juno Reactor's Shango and The Crystal Method's Vegas from some years ago, which I enjoyed as well. My sure there is more good stuff out there in this catagory, but with so many choices, its bewildering to a casual listener.**

M

I haven't listened to Groove armada very much but here's a few more tips, mabye worth checking up: (all albums)

Layo And Bushwacka - Nightworks

Forss - Soulhack

What songs will you pick as the best of 2004? My list would have to include Wave Force by Perry O'Neil for sure. It just rocks the house every time it plays.

:sly: Look, I don't know if the song I'm about to ask about is electronica or dance or trance or whichever, but I would like to finally know the name of it and the artist of it, so without further ado, here I go,...

if you've ever seen this movie called "The Sweetest Thing" (2002, Cameron Diaz and a few other lesser-known folks), then you should also know about the scene where they are in the club and Cameron meets the love of her dreams (the dude that was scheduled to marry some other girl and stuff) for the first time (it's also the same incident in which she tries to get him to get with her best friend). Now, if you know of the scene, then you should have also heard some funky dance music and whatnot playing in the background. I can't explain things any further than that, but if anybody, and I mean anybody has any info on the groove song(s) that play on in the background during that scene, I beg of you, PLEASE let me know. I'd appreciate it A LOT. Thanks!!!!! :sly:

:sly: HELLO?!? ANYBODY HERE?!?!? Someone PLEASE reply to my previous thread and help me find out the name of the song. Thanks!!! :sly:

Anbody like Fischerspooner? I love their album, #1. Check them out.

Would you classifsy The Postal Service as Electronica? I would. Love them too. :)

Go to www.amazon.com and find the soundtrack. Listen to each song on there and see if the song you are looking for is on there.

I havn't heard much Fischerspooner but from what I have heard, they were okay. I've never heard of The Postal Service. Sorry.

Fischerspooner, yes heard some of their stuff. Favourite song without doubt is The 15th, so beautiful.

In the same style to mention a few others: Mount Sims, Arpanet, Japanese Telecom and Radio Caroline, excellent mix album from Miss Kittin.

Postal Service? No, not me. I place them in pop. Awesome band though. 👍

Anyone heard something from David Carretta? Probably my favourite artist/dj in electronica. French electroclash which is very close both to house and trance. I can reccomend Electro Dash from him, a superb mix album.

I listen to alot of trance[]control. That's how I first heard of it. It sucks trying to listen to DI or other radio sites cause I have dial-up.

I'm more into stuff like Aphex, Autechere, Squarepusher, etc. It seems like most people like trance, though...

Anybody around here make any of thier own stuff?

I don't know if anybody remembers this song... but it was on an Oakley(?) Sunglasses commercial just a few years ago. If anybody wants me to send them a sample, if they think they can help me... that would be cool.

crappy... its in my girlfriends car, I'll get it tomorrow. It really is a great track. There are no vocals, but its a very unique track.

I'm currently seeing if they have a sample of it in this excellent electronic music guide that pupik posted up top ^^^
