Want more explaining? Blackbird's sister.

Whoa! And that is what HE wants, too?

On topic, are aircraft velocities limited at low altitude by the density of the atmosphere compared to the craft's service altitude, the lack of certain gases that are beneficial to the engines at low altitudes, or a combination of both? (example: Mirage 5 top speed- Mach 2.2 at service altitude, 863mph at sea level)

To my knowledge, no free CFS programs exist...

Yes, it is indeed the higher density of air at low level that limits top speed of aircraft. The stresses are also a lot higher at low level due to the increased air density/pressure too. The fastest aircraft I can think of at sea level are the F-14 Tomcat (Mach 1.2), B-1B Lancer (about Mach 1), Tornado (also about Mach 1). The F-111 Aardvark is apparently capable of exceeding Mach 1 at sea level too, though I don't know how fast it is. The F-14 is supposedly capable of exceeding Mach 1.2 at or near sea level though. I have heard rumors as high as Mach 1.8 at altitudes below 10,000 ft. Even the F-15 can't do that.

Do debits cards that are associated with Canadian bank accounts work in the States? I've heard yes from a few people, but I'm not sure.

Most do. If your debit card has a Visa or Mastercard logo, it should work anywhere in the world. Currency conversion is handled by "The Machine" ;).

My family supports mike huckabee, so we put up signs in our yard. The only problem is we've had someone run over one of our signs with a bike, and just recently a car (as well as emptying their trash on out lawn).

My question is, is it legal to place nails or any sharp object under that sign? the signs are on our property, so as I see it they are defacing my property. They want to run over my sign, go ahead, but they're going to pay for their actions.

Is it legal for them to deface your property? But just to make your message clear, place some Claymore under that sign instead!!:trouble::trouble::trouble:

Go ahead and set those nails up. I suggest some huge strong ones that will completely mess up a tire beyond repair. Use a piece of wood to hold them steady.

You're asking if it's legal to set up booby traps in your front yard?

Oh yeah, setup the nails, then get sued.

Are you daft? That is ASKING to be sued.

What would the guy sue him for? "Well I was driving into this guys yard to run over his sign and he set nails out and they popped my tires! Make him buy me a new set of tires!"

Unlikely...

Unlikely...

Considering robbers have been successful in suits about being shot and such, I don't think its that unlikely.

Actually, it sounds like a good reason. It is dangerous. And an innocent by-passer who happened to step on it?

I don't know how it is in the supposedly lawsuit-happy America, but over here, it's illegal to place harmful objects in the open.

That's why you shoot a robber in the face.

Can you leave me the hell alone for once azureman, christ.

All Ive done for now is cut off a palm frond, cut it into decent size pieces, then set it in the ground so that whatever goes over it is going to be jabbed by the spikes. At least the biker will be screwed if he tries it again.

You do realize I am not just picking on you. You just happen to have rather poor conceptions on how the world works.

If a kid gets hurt on your booby trap, you can expect some legal ramifications. Thats all.

You can make this as personal as you want, but its not my fault you have a history of posting ridiculous ideas, attention getting stuff (I like to black myself out), or general anger at everything including yourself.

Perhaps you should take the advice I gave you earlier and talk to someone about your issues. And perhaps you should consider I gave you a sound bit of advice - booby trapping things is asking for trouble. It will either be legal OR escalate issues with the people knocking down your signs... like broken windows and further vandalism. Fighting fire with fire only makes a giant pile of ash.

It would be kind of hard for someone to be right in front of the sign (especially going onto Diablo's lawn, of ALL people, Diablo's lawn ), you don't need to be in such close contact to read it.

Exactly what I was just thinking. It would be obvious that he ran over it on purpose. The fact that Diablo was ready for it this time shows that it most likely happened before. I would do the same thing if I was him...

Think of Barb Wired fences, they are ment to stop you from entering/escaping. If you get hurt, that's your problem. Diablo is doing something similar, he is putting nails under a sign so people wouldn't run over his sign in his lawn again.

Barbed wire fences are used to keep cattle in, not people out. Razor wire is used to keep people out/in, and is placed normally at the top of an 8 to 10 ft chain link fence. This keeps kids from wandering into it as much. I am pretty sure if you put barb wire up around your front yard in a neighborhood, there would be complaints.

Unless you nuke them, then you have glass

I'm well aware of the fact that if some kid gets hurt I could get sued, but you have the same odds with anything on you're yard, even a playset. The point is why would another person be on my yard. I didn't know there were multitudes of kids running through other peoples yards.

What do you mean ridiculous ideas. It seems like you're mostly just basing your assumption of how I am on what happened recently.

I think you're underreacting.

First, as was just mentioned, you need to set up a barbed wire perimeter, that should go without saying.

Next, call up Hacksaw Jim Duggan and see if he can house-sit for awhile

Plant some land mines throughout your yard, and toss around a few caltrops.

Next, make use of any overhanging tree limbs or light standards by hanging chainsaws from them. Start em up and give them a little push for a nice pendulum effect - your neighbours will love it.

Lastly, consider installing floodlights and a few motion tracking auto turrets on your roof incase anyone outwits those chainsaws.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:Hacksaw is awesome!!! But all that is unnecessary. (COOL, I managed to spell unnecessary correctly without help of spell check!)

Put a sign next to it that says "Beware of Daan" They don't want to get Daan banned!

"Metar, what does the Scouter say about his Sarcasm?"

"ITS OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!?????" /breaks Scouter.

I don't feel this warrants its own thread at all, but is there a symptom or name for when your vision gets real blurry out of the blue?

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to have this checked out, as my vision started to go on the road today, and I wanted to know if I could look up more on this. This usually happens 1-2 times every few months, but it's starting to happen more often, sometimes even so, that I can barely see (just at the point where everything is blur; nothing can be made out).

I'd just like to do some research on this tonight to make sure I don't discover my vision could be going, or need some kind of immediate attention.

umm, scary.

Don't have an answer for you, as there are many conditions/diseases that may cause this. My sister experienced something like this for about a year with seizures/fainting spells/dizzyness which started after she slipped on an ice patch and whacked her head (she's fine now), and I often get it when I have migraine headaches.

I wouldn't be surprised if your doctor suspends your drivers license tomorrow. They'd be required by law and code of ethics to do so here if it is something that occurs regularly without warning.

I never got seizures or dizzyness, but in a few occurances, I did get the feeling I was going to faint. :scared:

What car is this? I thought it might be a 60's Skyline or 510 Bluebird or something...
