Hallo,

I have Genius Speed Wheel 5 and I can´t get it to work properly on GT5 Academy Edition.

You can´t choose this wheel in the controller options menu. Can I somehow assign this wheel to work properly? The pedals are working fine, but the steering is not sensitive enough and the pedals on the back of the wheel are not shifting gears in manual transmition mode.

Can someone please help me? Thank you very much, Carlos

I've heard nothing but bad things about that wheel, if you can - Pawn it and buy a DFGT.

Buying a new wheel is an option, but I don´t want to spend any more money. This Genius was working well on PC with BMW M3 Challenge and other games.

Any help, please :nervous:

I can't find any information on calibrating that wheel with GT5.

Try syncing it with some of the older wheels - Logitech GTPro perhaps?

And how can I sync it with this older wheel? I am new to PS3 and GT5, so I am kinda lost. If only the shift paddles were working... If I push the left one for downshifting, the view looks back and I don´t know how to assign the corrent key :ouch:

I'm really trying here my friend but unfortunately I cannot find any information relating to reassigning controls with this particular wheel.

However, there are a handful of videos on youtube where people have managed to get this wheel to work 'properly'* with GT5, perhaps if you ask them you may get the answers you're after.

I'm sorry that I cannot be of more help, again I can only highly recommend investing in a DFGT - you most certainly won't regret it if you're interested in using a wheel.

ok, default controls. find out what each button you have does and use that as a reference point to set it to what you want it to do example L1 is look behind so set down shift to L1 and that should get your left paddle working as a shifter.

Gas/ Accelerate- X
Brake- Square
E-brake- Circle
Reverse- Triangle
Look behind- L1
Hi beams- R1
Downshift- L2
Upshift- R2
Horn- L3 (push L analog stick in)
Wipers- R3(same on R analog)
Steering and Dpad controls are kinda Obvious. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks guys for your help, but it´s still not working. I tried to assign the right controls on all the available wheels in the game, but I think that the game does not recognize my Genius wheel.

Thanks anyway!

That's unfortunate.. sorry we couldn't be of more help.

Just a thought but GT5 may be recognising the wheel as a controller so why don't you try re-mapping the hand controller button map. It's worth a shot at least 👍

...and welcome to :gtplanet:
