The German GP is one of my favourites. A couple of things of note this weekend:
  • Doornbos will be racing at Minardi replacing Friesacher
  • Kiesa has got the friday drive at Jordan, he raced for Minardi in 2003 when Justin Wilson moved to Jaguar
  • There is a 60% chance of rain on Sunday
  • There has been alot of testing recently, Williams new aero package seems promising from what I've read, so maybe they'll get back into the points
  • This track is traditionally very hard on rear tyres (remember back in 2003), and temps are expected to be very high if it's not raining, so maybe Renault will have some problems - they do say, however, that they've rectified the problem they had in Monaco
Should be a good weekend 👍

Starting early this week Blake!

I have no idea what will happen this weekend, if it rains then Shumi will be very strong as usual. I wish they would put Hockenheim back the way it was :(

i love the new hockenheim, i dont know how anyone cant like it.

Alonso all the way this weekend

they were ok, but you could say the same about the nordschleife.

i just think the new layout is amazing, much more competitive racing than in the old one.

No, Renault shouldn't have any problems with the German GP. Alonso had no problems the past two years. He scored 4th and 3rd the last two seasons there.

I say Alonso takes 1st, if Kimi runs low in the starting order again. JPM has been running hot lately, and he has a good record here. So, it will be yet another close race with Alonso being a for sure podium finisher. What is critical for Renault is Fisi. He really needs to come through for Renault and Alonso with JPM doing so well. Fisi could blow it for Renault, so I'll watch with great interest how he performs in pratice that is set to take place 6 hours from now.

I'm not sure about this weekend. I'll take a stab at it and say;

Kimi
JPM
Alonso
Button
MS

Should be a good weekend. The current track is NOTHING like the classic one through the woods...but still, not a bad circuit for modern GP racing.

THis race will be great, it'd be greater on the old track though, man those long straights were awesome.

hmmmmmmmmm i think Raikkonen will have this one as long as the Merc dont give up on him again with a batlle for 2nd including the likes of Alonso, JPM, Schumi (if it rains), maybe Button if he puts in another good qualifying performance. For pole Raikkonen with a healthy amount of fuel too. McLaren all the way i think.... (still hoping for BAR though :D)

A Merc engine not give up...hahaha...ya and monkeys will fly out of my you know what...

:-)

My fingers are crossed for Kimi and JPM...I love Trulli but I hope they get ahead of him too!

Well McLaren are looking very strong and I expect a 1-2. I think that would be there first since 1999 wouldn't it?

Kimi
JPM
Alonso
Button

I am certainly not a M. Schumacher fan and love to see him lose for a change but I wonder what is wrong with him and Ferrari this season.

Raikonnen is on pole, no surprise there but JPM losing the McLaren on the last corner.... harsh. Nice lap by Button though to get ahead of the Renaults

Gee, I wonder if Button is qualifying light again?

Good show by the Renaults. I hope Fisi does well this time.

1st. Kimi
2nd. Alonso
3rd. Fisi
4th. Shumacher
5th Button
6th JPM
7th. Webber
8th. Heidfeld

Hmmmmm heres my prediction:
1st: Kimi
2nd: Alonso
3rd: Button
4th: M Schumacher
5th: Webber
6th: Hiefeld
7th: Trulli
8th: Montoya

Knowing Fisi's luck some german will come over to him in the pits and offer him a nice cool pint of kronenburg.... and then another.... and another....

I would not be surprised if he fell asleep at the wheel during the start of the race, myself.

He might even bring some lucky charms that will increase the weight of his car, the added weight leading to faster tyre wear and so has a tyre failure. Poor Fisi....

That Op. Lock of Kimi's was beautiful! Almost like her was driving an RR Porsche...

JPM - This is why we love the guy. He is go for it all the time. On that ragged edge. Sometimes it works. other times it doesn't. Sucks to be him but in some ways it helps Kimi as all he needs to worry about is Alonso now.

JPM, MS and all others are out of the title hunt, whether they admit it or not.

Though this does help Renault's constructor hopes.
