My bro thinks I'm a loser because I play to much GT and that I should make it into a real profession where I can actually spend my time more wisely.

But, I work part time and have little income/knowledge/resources to support a lifestyle like that.

So he joked and said, "you should get paid to play GT".

I laughed for a second, but thought why not? That would be awesome.

So my questions are:
Anything currently out there like this?
Would you be interested? 1-10? And why?

Maybe if you did youtube videos and got a partnership. Or work for PD?

whether you try to make money out of it in real life or in simulators, being it GT5 or other ones such as Iracing, you have to be extremely good at it first.

have you achieved a top50 time in the TTs? If not, forget about it immediately.

It's called getting a job as a video game designer.

Ha. I have more experience as a cook than I do as a video game designer :)
Thanks though.

Haha you guys are so mean!!!

Just give him some wings...

for a youtube partnership the videos have to be comprised of nothing but original content no? at least that's how the ad system works, so anything with footage of GT5 would be a no-no

Plenty of people get paid for people watching their videos of Call of Duty and stuff like that, so he could technically do it, but I've never seen a Machinima (not the genre of video, the website) channel for a racing game or anything like that. Also you'd need to get a severe number of hits to make any decent money from it, and I somehow doubt there's as many racing sim fans as there are Call of Duty fans out there.

Yeah, if you get a lot of hits on YouTube then you end up getting paid. But I'm not sure how many people would watch a GT5 video...

i've been contacted by youtube about that saying i could get ad revenue or something but it also states it must be 100% original content and lists videogame footage as unacceptable... :(

I wasnt really thinking of the YouTube route. I was thinking more of something like an online auto club racing league. Where you pay an entry fee, and get paid per race online through paypal/etc. And compete only between some of the best where you'll have to show some great qualifying numbers in order to get in.

Check Iracing. $10,000 if you win the championship

Threads merged.

This thread just gave me an idea, as to open up an Internet style café , but have GT5 simulators where people can play for a membership fee. Maybe it's more trouble than its worth.

You need something more to make money. I always wanted to do an arcade/bar/laundry mat.

Unless you are a game journalist/reviewer or work for pd am afraid its just a pipe dream, I would love to get paid for having sex with super models but that isent going to happen either ;)

Iracing is the idea I had but on a GT platform. Also w/o having to pay a high subscription fee, just a small entry fee so you'd have something to split between the top 10 or so.
