It's not like what it was in my day. All I had as a 12 year old was a stick and a flat football, and I had loadsa fun.
 
I just bought my girlfriend (she's 26, by the way) a Samsung E700. I had to open my wrist and pay for it in blood. My god - could they BE any more expensive? It cost more than my PS2 did when it was new!
 
Ah you must have bought it on Pay as you go. Good job it wasn't bought offline.

Get a cheaper phone next time. 2 year agreements save even more money than one years. My v120 was free with the 2 year agreement and dad's v120 was $19.99 :)
 
The way I work it out:

Phone: £179.99 - she only uses it to text me, so credit is needed sparingly - say £10 a month. It'll last her 4 years easily. That's £480 for a total of £659.99
Contract: £20 a month. 4 years = £960

Well $1k isn't chump change, but that sucks man.

Our plan:

$19.99 initial charge (2nd phone)

2 years @ $29.99 + $9.99 a month (2nd line, Dad's)

200 minutes a month, 100 for dad, plus 200 mobile to mobile

$0.10 a text, but I haven't texted in over a year.

Final price:
$719.52

Ouch. Our plan ain't cheap, either :indiff: :indiff:
 
I have T-Mobile as my carrier, I'm on the $29.99 plan, which is perfect for me and I use the Nokia 6610. The phone is really solid, fits in my pockets, and if i drop it, it doesn't go "kapput", unlike my Samsung flip-phone from earlier this year. Not that I drop it all the time. If nothing works out for you, get one of the lil' Pay-As-You-Go plan thingys. Much easier on you if you have to cancel for some reason. Anyways, hope you find something that works for you!

Well...My dad has decided on getting me the phone in the first post. The Sprint P-3205. Anyway, he looked at all the phones in this thread and the one I originally picked out was the one he liked most. I love it for a few reasons.

1.) Voce- Activated Dialing
2.) Downloadable ringtones
3.) FM Radio Tuner
4. Flashlight
5.)The ability to change the color of your phone with A quick snap on. "Show your true colors by creating your own custom cut-out covers that just snap in! Whether it's a favorite photo or image, or a cut-out design you create on your computer, this phone is just your style."

Bah! This, along with speeddial, are the two worst phone "features" ever. Nothing like calling your parents house at 2:30 am when you are plastered as hell....:dunce::scared:
 
Yeah...That's why when i am not talking on it I will have my phone lock on. I love Sprint...
 
I like 3G phones. They come free with the contract, you get good features and cheap calls.
