remember that the X1 is completely different than a real F1 car. the real F1 car is, to be blunt, physically possible to drive, while the X1 is not. even an F1 world champion might not be able to control a car that couldn't be driven in reality because it creates enough G force to make a fighter pilot pass out without an assist or two.

I love the fairytale that being F1 world champion makes you equally as good at a video game. The long-term GT gamers on here would beat Vettel quite easily I would think - unless he is a hardcore gamer in his own right?!

BBC coverage of F1 this year had a feature on Louis Hamilton playing his younger brother at F1 2010. He admitted that his brother had won several online competitions in other F1 racers and whipped him constantly when they game.

If Vettel actually took the time in the past year to ace the X1 GT5 track times I'd be amazed. Some believe the marketing hype a little too much methinks.

remember he does this for a living, not playing a game thinking its 100% sim (Which its not, and probably will never be)

Pretty sure he can do what he likes =)

Is anyone willing to concede that the Sebastien Vettel Challenge is, in fact, harder than Mission 34? Not convinced :trouble:

Suzuka to me was harder than mission 34. In mission 34 you could cut through Adenauer Frost if you wanted which would make the job of getting first place rather easy, if you didn't want to do it "clean".

Also, the only real difficulty of mission 34 was getting the hang of the SLR's handling, once you did that, and with some good knowledge of Nürburgring's layout, it was also simple.

Do not forget that Sebastian Vettel is an F1 champion who grew up in the same generation of many youngsters around here. Who says he isn't good at videogames (not to mention racing, duh..).

If it would be Michael Schumacher, Webber or Rubens Barrichello, I would agree. Those guys probably haven't seen a gaming console until they bought one for their kids.
