Alright here's the deal: The 300 is getting old. the other day i started having what *seemed like a small electrical short which messed with the throttle and the lights....but it turned out to be a $1000.00 problem(there was other stuf too, i didn't just get ripped off). so i paid that. 2 days later, she overheats w/ the T-tops down in 90 degree + sunny south florida(booo) so i have to go in for all sorts of coolant and thermometer issues which put me about $300.00 more in the hole. here's the ?. What's next? Shes got 122XXX on her and when she runs(keep in mind that these are the 1st real problems i have had since august) the car is unbelievable fun. I wouldn't trade my driving times for anything but i still havent done the 120K maintenance. I plan on doin that this summer but i wonder if it's time to get something more practical for college. CIVIC! only kidding. what do you guys think? I am leaning towards keeping the car and not just selling hastily. Yet this is the first time i have entertained the idea of getting a different car.

*** Yes, this is a very lame question. But the NPZ needed some new threads and i figured this would bring some life***

With age it is only natural that more problems arise with your car. Dad's Skyline GTS-4 has had about $4000 worth of problems in the year and a half he's had it, but i'm still saving up to buy it off him despite the costly repair bills.

If you can afford to i'd keep the ZX as a weekender and buy a really cheap running daily driver. Once you sell a performance car you start to regret it afterwords (so i've heard).

So far I havent had any problems with my R33 exept a busted fuel line.

Good advice: Buy a Honda, from an 'older' person.

Blasphemy!!! :D

Seriously, though, if you want a more reliable car, but still fun, check out a 240SX. They rock.

I'd keep the ZX til you can get some dough to swap in a VQ engine.
WTF? Why would you swap a VQ motor in place of the VG30DETT? The only thing you would gain from the swap would be a cleaner engine bay and a little more reliability. Your wallet and bank account would be in ruins afterwards though...

I have a headache just thinking about this swap. :scared:

True, and thats if it is installed properly, not a bodgy job that goes wrong.

swap doesn't sound bad...but i would swap IN a VG30DETT considering i currently run a VG30DE(which is pretty reliable)

It's mostly MAINTAINANCE costs that i'm worried about. The engine runs, and i don't doubt that when i turn the key, the car will start. But everything on the car is getting old and sloshy. For example almost every bushing is completely shot. my stick wobbles like 2 inches left and right while IN gear.

But i made up my mind the other day to keep it considering i got some seriously late( but def. worth the wait) money for graduation. :)

Thanks fellow nissan people!
