It's wireless and UpNp is enabled, and yes open ports. Funny thing is, it's only started disconnecting since the last update. Hopefully with this next small update they can fix this issue 👍 .

Found your problem. Plug it in! Wifi (for the most part) SUCKS for GT5.

I've been getting this a lot.

Seems like pre-1.10 patch (or maybe 1.09...I don't know) I've been getting disconnected from lobbies all the time. Lately I've been just setting up my own lobby (a free run lobby I should note).

Seems like all the lobbies I want to join all have no bars, yet all the drag racing rooms (that I HATE) are 3-5 bars. WTFH...
Yet all the drag racing rooms has 3-5 bars, and i love those :)

Anti draggers, dont look me in the eye...

I have the same problem I quit online for that reason. It seems online hasn't been the same psn was down.

Awful lot of complaints, haven't had much problems playing online in GT5, but I do know that PSN as a whole is a bit up and down the past months. Been disconnected from GT5 online 4 times the entire life of the game I always DMZ my PS3 just to make sure that I don't have connectivity issues as there are multiple PC's that use my connection and that drives the NAT crazy.

Must give your PS3 a static IP address if you are going to use DMZ. I will check out GT5 online tomorrow to see if I get disconnected, I might considering folks here love to abuse Netflix and seriously I mean abuse there are 3 Netflix accounts in my house alone, go figure. Definitely breaking the 5 gig barrier per month, lol.

Just a quick bit of help for those who are having issues like me. đź’ˇ

After getting a tip off a fellow GTP'er, I found that turning the Menu BGM down to 0 really does make a difference.

My GT5 seemed to respond quicker and I entered several lobbies without being disconnected :) .

Give it a go guys, hopefully it will work for you as well.

There would have to be extreme cases of Wi-fi problems for this to be true I think. I'm on Wi-fi and have no problems once we get a lobby that works well.

I don't know what the issue is with GT5 online. Last night there was just five of us in the lobby, all of whom I race with regularly, and it completely imploded.

Then in another race I'm racing against people from nine different countries, it works fine. I don't know what's going on. I'll try that Menu BMG tip-off, see if helps :)

Well, if gt5 should work ultimate online, you must fulfill these:

1) Decent internet connection, 8mbit at least
2) Decent router, since the type of router does affect much
3) Router and ps3 in DMZ, and static ip on ps3, or port forwarded
4) No other people abusing your network
5) Ps3 hooked up thru a wire
6) Clean cache files before you go online
8) The host must also fulfill these steps in order to host a clean room...

9??) Turning music of, that was a new one :)

Few people fulfill these....for example on my specific router i cant use DMZ, how ever i could open ports and give ps3 static ip, and that helped me alot. I also upgraded from 8mbit to *secret* speed, and that helped me as well. It also depends on the type of connection you have and how stable it is. I know for sure that manny people that are connected to fibre lan have big problems due to their lame ass provider. What more, well, if you have ip telephony and iptv, the provider some times install a "ping filter", and that also affects your latency.

Where to start, well visit http://portforward.com/

I wish I could, just that the whole house separates my PS3 from my router.

So not only are on on wifi, you're far away from the router. The signal gets ever weakened over distance and as it travels through walls. I am 99% confident that a cable would solve almost all of your problems. Without a cable, I'd be concerned you'll never fix you're problem completely.
