Getting rid of the X-Box?

The other day i was playing online in UnderGround 2 and i have bin hearing these roomers that they are getting rid of the X-Box.So the only thing you will be able to buy will just be the 360. Please tell me that they are all rong cuzz i am going to be purchasing one near X-mas time.
 
They arent getting rid of it. Maybe after the 360 is released there might be a price reduction but they arent getting rid of it like that.
 
It will be years before they stop making any more Xbox's, most likey your have to wait another 2-5 years. Before they stop making Xbox's.
 
It is common knowledge and accepted procedure to discontinue a model when a newer one is introduced. At this time, I'm certain that there are no more Original Xbox's being produced.

And considering that this was last commented on in November, You and I are reviving a near dead thread. ;)
 
I hope they'll still have them, I have a Best Buy replacement plan on mine... I want to get a new one in June.

Im curious as to what they would do if at that time they are no longer selling Xboxes. Would they be obligated to give you a 360? ;)
 
No one will be buying a new Xbox in a few years as a holiday gift, MS would have to prce it at $99(assuming ps2 will be) and there is no way to make a smaller cheaper design. The best they could do is design compatible smaller components and then they would still be paying Nvidia and if anything they would "break even" having to make whole new smaller system. Think about how much a laptop with no screen would cost with equal power as an Xbox. It would cost maybe $99 to make.
 
I bought an Xbox off a friend of mine (who was getting a 360) for £50, with NFS:MW. Best deal ever.

Yeah, I'm a bit late in this thread, but there we are.

There will still be loads kicking about second hand. Course, if you're going to wait 2 or 3 years before you get one, it may just be easier to get a 360 which should've halved in price by then.

No No.. Im definatly not waiting two years to get one i should have it in about a mouth our so.. :nervous:
