Anyone have an easy/non-boring way to get this achievement other than sandbagging and driving around at the back of the pack mindlessly for 5 hours?

Don't tell me you need to be SR S, because my SR at kudosprime has been maxed at 99/99 for many many races now, and even in full SR S rooms you still get punters and the occasional mistake. Racing is racing and contact/going off track is unavoidable even at the highest levels. My DR is B and I usually qualify mid pack which is the worst starting position to have.

I've been trying to get it naturally, my longest streak is 5 races.

This week I've been doing the sandbagging method, got up to 8 races but lost my concentration (because of driving too slowly), braked too late and went off in the grass. Even though I was dead last, didn't cut a corner, and slid off the track at full brakes I still got penalised. Wut. Da. 🤬 Next race I got fed up, raced properly and had a clumsy understeer door rubbing moment with another car and didn't get a single penalty. Double 🤬

Honestly at this point I'm thinking of just qualifying last and letting autodrive pootle around for 15 races while I do other productive stuff with my life. Sorry if this seems cheap, but this achievement is plainly another case of Kaz's head always being in a bubble and expecting everyone to drive perfect.

As far I know, if you would have quit the race after you noticed the penalty the clean race run would have remained.
But I think it is the only (easy) way to achieve this, everything else needs a lot of luck.

Wait for a Daily A with a slow car on a wide track. I got 17 in a row with the Fiat 500 on the short Kyoto layout. Qualy had me on pole many times, second or third on others. It was with the recently changed ultra-strict penalty system. Keep your nose clean and give up a win if you have to.

I hate that challenge. I did 8 consecutive "driving at the back at slow pace, letting everybody overtake me" method but after the 9th race the game didn't give me the consecutive streak afor whatever reason, even though I drove exactly like I did the previous 8 times. Just **** that.

It's possible even without sandbagging. I recently got the 15 clean races, but it took me over 250 races to get there. During that 15 race streak, I was only off the podium in 4 or 5 of those races and had a bunch of wins also. I didn't even realize it until I had about an 8 race clean streak which is rare since I crash a lot.

What worked for me was only racing the car/track combinations that I was comfortable with and driving within my limits. I think it's actually easier on Daily Race C, since being consistent is more important than trying to squeeze every last tenth out of each corner.

Maybe a math geek can run some numbers. With decent driving, it's just a matter of volume until it happens.

I haven't managed it yet and only got my 7 streak using the Daily A race as others have suggested. Sadly, lack of concentration cost me on my 8th race. Haven't had the enthusiasm to try again since.

Sandbagging doesn't take 5 hours. And, it's kind of fun seeing how many positions you can gain. My record is 9.

Just be prepared to tank your DR though. Mine went down to a low C i believe

If you sandbag, then this achievement doesn't mean anything...such is life.

On the other hand, if you legitimately earn it, then your racecraft will be on another level...but lady luck is certainly a prominent factor, good luck.

I've only matched my 17 clean races once while simply racing hard and that was with a lot of poles. The first time I did it I sandbagged it after losing the streak 3 times when over 10. Of all tracks it was Monza where I matched my 17 streak the 'proper' way lol.

Some tracks are better than others, some are simply bugged and the clean race bonus seems bugged. Plus there's always the random missile or 1 bar connection that can end your streak at any time. One thing you can do if you really want to complete it and never have to think about it again, quitting the race does not reset the clean streak. If you get taken out or have to ditch and think you lost the streak, quit before the end of the race and your streak stays. (Don't quit too soon as you'll lose SR)

It's mostly luck though. Starting last is no guarantee not to get hit at the start. Yesterday I started 10th in a daily C while not qualifying!

Good luck! You'll need it.

Ahhh if only I'd known this last night :( I read that quitting tanks your SR massively so I thought you'd lose the streak anyway.

There is quite a bit of luck involved. I got 16 clean races in a row in daily A races, on a couple of tracks that I know very well. Qualified in the top three, and then stayed out of trouble.

Not that the reward is worth the hassle.

Yeah the XP and mileage rewards are peanuts, but I'm a completionist so I like to see all those coloured circles filled up :D

The daily races run every 20 minutes, so you can do 3 race/hour. If you start from 0 streak you'd need 15/3=5 hours of racing.

I don't mind tanking my DR. It's getting more and more difficult to get wins in DR B, if I go down a few ranks I'll get a few easy wins climbing back up. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone ;)

I'm not the fastest driver around but I'm pretty confident in my racecraft. The problem is other people - even if you keep your nose clean you still get the occasional missile which ruins everything. If I'm 10 years younger and don't have a job I'd be happy to do this the "correct" way by doing 1000s of races, but as it stands, there's just too much luck involved and I don't have the time to do that many races...

I always thought quitting tanks your SR regardless? So when is the proper time to quit to avoid losing SR and keep the streak? On the final lap? Just before crossing the finish?

Also does anyone know if autodrive works? It's very slow and I might not cross the line before timer runs out. Does DNF count as a clean?

Thanks all again for the tips and encouragement 👍

Don't race on tracks that have super hard stops, like Monza, Tokyo East Outer Loop, etc. Those tracks are begging for you to lose your Clean Race streak.

When I was doing it, I kept my distance from everyone, even if it meant giving up a position.
From today's One Make races, you might be able to do Daily Race A and get the 15 clean race streak. Good luck.

I had to start all over due to an error that wiped out my 300 cars. So I then started from scratch and went on a tear at Dragon Tail Gardens 20 races, 18 poles, 16 wins, 10 fastest laps and wait for it........
14 clean races until I get bombed off in turn two. The rest was history. So in no mood to sand bag and get that one. LOL.

Quitting costs 5 SR. A daily B is only worth 5 or 6 SR so quit in the last lap if you don't want to lose any. A daily C can be worth up to 26 SR so you can quit much earlier or simply wait it out in the pit. It's a lot faster to get 15 races in in a daily B of course. Anyway you shouldn't need to quit often, just when a badly teleporting car knocks you out or hdmi connection fails in the middle of a turn and the screen blacks out. It's only 5 SR. You should have it back the next clean race.

I don't think you need to finish to keep the clean bonus yet don't take my word for it. Test it when you're at 0 :)

Auto drive will DQ you after a minute and you can't reset the timer. (Drive a little and auto drive again doesn't work) I'm pretty sure a DQ will reset your clean streak!

I usually just let everyone pass me on the first straight so no risk of getting divebombed in first corner. Even so I stay away from Tokyo/Ovals because the risk of getting caught up in a subsequent pileup is too high.

I was doing the one make Huracan race when I lost my concentration (and the streak). I think I'll stick to Gr.4 or Gr.3 cars since they are easier to drive and have a larger margin of error. Also I can use it to test various car/track combinations to keep it from getting too boring (and losing my concentration again).

Ah gotcha! So you lose SR but driving around in the race itself gives you a certain amount of points to compensate. Does quitting drop your DR too? I don't really mind either way because climbing back up gives easy wins, but it's good to know the calculations.

That's a shame about autodrive being limited. Bloody PD always so uptight about these things :grumpy:

Maybe instead of a set number of clean races like 15, it should be a percentage?

Great idea actually. That way people are forced to really maintain their clean racing for their whole Sports playtime, instead of doing stupid things like sandbagging 15 races and then continue to play bumper cars again. The current system is too easy to game to get 99/99.

I've been thinking matchmaking should really be based on qualifying times as well, rather than SR>DR priority like now. I know a shrinking userbase and people moving up/down levels intentionally doesn't help, but at least it should be much closer than it is now. I've been in rooms where everyone is equal DR/SR, and there are still crashers at the back and rabbits at the front.

I just got this achievement recently too, and when I first did it, I got up to 13 but distracted myself watching the world cup on the 14th round of the clean race streak.

I initially tried the driving in the back method and it did work, but when I did it a second time, it failed on the 10th try. I read maybe it was because I didn't finish the race in time, but couldn't confirm.

On the try that I completed it, it was with the 86 GRMN with blue moon bay oval track daily race A. Sometimes I would pass people, but it wouldn't be in the top ten. I also find that it's better to do it while at Driver rating D, although I still am and maybe not everyone has that luxury. But it takes a lot of the burden off if you are worried about your stats.

Being patient also helps, even though you are doing it repeatedly. Also, I think daily race A or B is better for this challenge. If you start it right, you can actually do 4 races an hour, and be done in 4 and a bit hours. (4 races x 4 hours = 16 times.) Worst case scenario is one clean race a day, but that would mean two weeks to complete the achievement and an even more waste of time.

I think it is a good way to promote cleaner driving habits, but just don't like the fact it has to be consecutively, despite it having some advantages of training yourself to drive cleanly I guess.

Hope it helps, as some of the better aavice and tips are already given above.

Wanna hear a bad joke? Got up to 12 races today at Le Mans, then some noob braked wayyy to early for the chicanes and I had to take evasive action and cut the chicane. Penalty, fine. Tried quitting, but next race I finished cleanly and the streak is gone.

What a load of bull:censored:

I have never wanted to throw my PS4 out of the window so badly :(

Honestly this thread has made me feel so much better.

I thought that it was expected that the clean races achievement was roughly the same difficulty as the race wins as pole position ones, and that I was just a poor and clumsy driver to not be able to get more than 3 clean races in a row when I’m really trying to race.

Seeing that most on here are opting to drive at the back in order to try and get this stupid award has made me feel that maybe I’m not such a trash driver overall!

I've got 2! after finishing 90 races (with 1x due to auto DQ because of the postman, & the other... must be when my DR reset?)

Read it and weep boys and girls.
Read it and weep.

I always race as clean as I can cos I feel guilty for ever screwing up anyone else's lap... but, my talent has been known to let me down and end up with exceeding track limit penalties by trying too hard... (if there's no rubbing).

Only way I'm ever going to collect the trophy is for everyone racing online to be after the same trophy at the exact same time as me... how's 11am tomorrow suit everyone?

*Fingers crossed*

I think I have 9 maybe at best or 7 can’t remember I usually am quite fortunate in some dailies I get on with really well I find I can get pole and lead from the front and get a clean race, of course being at the front means pressure or if it’s too easy you relax too much and go off

I’d be surprised if anyone has even got close to it naturally unless they were super fast and nailed pole times every time and just cleared off each race!

As someone with high Dr/ isn’t a fan of doing a race and then not racing I couldn’t do the drop back method at all so my attempts will be difficult

fia races and longer races are easier to be clean I think cos strategy inevitably calms the race down and spreads it out meaning getting on with your ow race and less battling

I came up to 12 consecutive clean races untill I went 3 months back in time because pushing the wrong save button.

Now back to 4 and need to start over. But I won them all driving up front top 3.

If you quit the game registers you as finishing last, so you lose DR to everyone that did finish the race.

Autodrive should be banned from sport races, some people still abuse it in corners. Drive your self. Worst thing is that auto drive drives more dirty than most at SR.S and has the tendency to brake extra mid corner. Instant ghost and pause for real instead of adding an obstacle in the race.

Damn, I haven't even gotten a single clean race bonus on Le Mans today. No clue why as I had penalty free, contact free races where I swear I stayed between the white lines at all times. Other tracks I have gotten the clean bonus despite (small) shortcut penalties.

I also hate that, the highest amount of consecutive clean races I achieved is 11. I wouldn't even dare to try that again.

My clean streak is 20  ... gamed ( staying at the back of the field ) :O !
Always thought this is a tough one so I tackled that as the very first thing, still being E/B. Took me two tries nonetheless, first one was stopped at 11 by a driver who struggeled at race start and ran into me in Yamagiwa T1 though I gave him three carwidths at least on the inside :) ...
After a total of about 35 races I got the achievement, an additional five being raced regularly.
No particular pride in that - job done.

PS
Best regular streak is 9.
