Getting the 15 Consecutive Clean Races Achievement

Damn, I haven't even gotten a single clean race bonus on Le Mans today. No clue why as I had penalty free, contact free races where I swear I stayed between the white lines at all times. Other tracks I have gotten the clean bonus despite (small) shortcut penalties.

I just stay off the kerbs completely in the chicanes and Dunlop esses. Also that kink coming into Indianapolis. Seriously the sensitivity of penalties is ridiculous. I bet even real life drivers cut those chicanes in a way that would get them SR E in GTS :grumpy:

Anyway, I've given up trying to get them all in a single day. Gonna do 2 races a day so I should have it done in a week or so. Less stress, and less chance of losing my concentration after hours of slow driving. Actually just did 2 races today, didn't sandbag, and managed to score 1 win and 1 pole (down at DR C, SR S lol) and 2 clean streak. Third time's the charm *fingers and toes and every other joint crossed*

All that slow driving with various cars also helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses of each Gr.4/3 car as well. And helped me to be a lot kinder to tyres and learn lift and coast. Will definitely come in handy in Daily C races...

Also, despite yesterday being a terrible day for losing the streak, I did actually rack up 12 pole positions at Le Mans. For some reason no one bothers to qualify if it's LM or Nurb lol.

Regardless, whoever thought of this achievement at PD - mate if I ever find you there's gonna be some keelhauling

Booyah! Finally got the 15 race streak today at Dragon Trail :D I was probably driving the slowest I've ever been, but the last laps ware as tense as anything  I was scared to even look at the kerbs (and I was absolutely snail pace through the chicane). Phew! Glad it's over. Managed to rack up a few poles and fastest laps along the way as well.

Next race I went all out but there was an A+ driver so I couldn't get a satisfaction win :( Even with a few bumps it was still a clean race though, so my streak is at 16. Let's see how far I can take it :mischievous:

Now I'm down in DR D, I think I will use a win/lose strategy to climb back up. Alternating between winning a race and losing a race will keep my DR steady. I'm at 70 odd races now so if everything goes as planned I should have the 91 wins trophy in 200 races or so, well within the 320 races trophy. I also noticed more high level drivers are around when an FIA race is on, so avoid Wednesdays and Saturdays. Weekends can be hit and miss, just depends on the car/track combo. Seems cheap but with the way matchmaking is and the standard of drivers online it's the most efficient way for me. Such is life as an adult.

Good luck to everyone else trying to get this Achievement. It can seem boring driving around at the back, but you do learn a lot about pacing yourself and if you use the time to try out different cars you'll learn a lot about the nuances of each.

See you all on the track and remember to keep it clean 👍 :gtpflag:

People hate on sandbagging, but it is so tedious you end up just getting hypnotised and going off by braking too late after several thousand turns!

I had a few times where I already had 4-5 clean races racing competitively, and so decided to be careful and extend it - first time at Lake Maggiore center I got caught out after 11 or so races by the tyres losing grip more than I expected at the end of the straight near the end of the race.

Eventually did it in a Golf VII GTI one make daily around Miyabi - nice wide track with little elevation and virtually impossible to go off. You just have to do 150 laps of a glorified squeezed oval is all!

So glad I am done and can go back to racing dirty...I er mean...getting penalties for bump drafting and being swerved into ;)
