Ghost in ANY RACE?

It would be really cool to have your ghost be an option during any race. I would love to be able to race my best lap while I'm racing the AI opponents.

I would even be willing to cut the races from 12 opponents to 10 or 8 if there was a hardware limitation.

Anyone else think this is an interesting idea?
 
Sounds distracting to me.

Would rather race when im in a race and set times when im in time trial.
 
Exactly, I mean, lets say you're running nascar with penalties and you see lapped traffic. You see where I'm going?
 
if i see any car (in offline) my first incentive is to be an ass by pushing my way to first. i'll mess up my lap times by trying to 'spin out' the ghost car.
 
Not sure how well it would really work but I did think about it as I was doing the 4hr roadster endurance.
 
Of course, like the current ghost, you could toggle it on/off. I just think it would be nice to mix in so you can see how you can lap faster and faster.
 
I would love it. I enter so many races in cars that win by 20 or 30 seconds, because I just want to drive them, and why not make money at the same time? It would add a whole new element to racing. Reminds me a bit of F1, you know, where drivers try to win but also try to get the fastest lap.
