Is there any way to get rid of that ghost replay?

For me it's highly annoying to see my own car flying over the screen when looking for new break points.

I know you can save a crap lap and replay that, but that only works for the first round.

Press up on the Dpad to get rid of the ghost.

Or drive faster so it's always behind you... :dopey:

Oh, and welcome to :gtplanet:

The ghost is very useful (at least for me) to achieve better laptimes because if a ghost-car is in front of me I always try to catch him and therefore my concentration gets much better than without and so do my laptimes.

BUT...

The ghost interfers my view when it is close by. So PD should implement a "Transparency Slider" for the ghost to adjust its transparency to anyones liking.

Can you here me Mr. Yamauchi ?

Thanks in advance for the implementation.

Simbin's Race07 has the perfect ghost. It's fully transparent when close to you, and fades in REALLY gradually. It only starts to become substantial when it's many car lengths away. I've never once missed a braking point due to that ghost, it's so well done. It is definitely the benchmark for PD.

That sounds good ! I hope PD do the same.

Shutup....

Really??!?!?!?!?1?1?!? My god I've been playing since GT1 and I never knew this. I too find the ghost too apparent at times. Just when Im trying to learn the track. When I've learned the track, I can see where I'm going even with the ghost because my eyes can make out the turns.

Learn something new every day.

Thanks GTPlanet ;)

Is anyone else having problems with their ghost somehow disabling itself ? I like to drive with the ghost on to try and improve my lap times, but when the ghost gets too close or behind me it disappears from the screen, apparently it shuts itself off completely.

I always think "wow this is going good, im ahead" until i notice the blue arrow on the minimap is in front of me and i have to press up again to enable the ghost, and there he is... miles ahead... :/

yeah i get that, and id like it to stay that way too :). But why does it turn off completely ? It should reappear as soon as it gets a certain distance ahead of me... but it doesnt, I have to press up on the d-pad again.

Be careful chasing ghost cars when driving. Sometimes if the ghost goes through a corner on the limit, the temptation is to try and brake a bit later and/or get on the power earlier which just ends in disaster and puts you even further behind. Sometimes you just have to admit the fact you lost time in one sector and then just try and keep the same gap between you and the ghost, that way you know you can go the same pace for those sections and you need to practise the slower bit.

I find it better to download a replay of a faster driver and watch it as if I was driving the lap and take note of what speeds they enter corners, their speeds at certain points at the circuit, braking points and what lines they take and trying to copy it.

For me I have to reassign the ghost on/off button to L3 as when I'm driving on the pad, sometimes I push up by accident and the ghost keeps turning on and off.

Hi, do you know how to watch ghosts from other countries?

Are you asking (as an example, USA) how to watch replays from the US players?
You need to have downloaded the demo from the US playstation store.

I have 2 seperate accounts (1 US and 1 UK) that I downloaded the demo to and my time is recorded on the leaderboard from the region you downloaded the demo, not nessasarily which username you raced with.
So I actually have 2 seperate times on 2 seperate leaderboards with the same PSN name and both fly the American flag.

Hope this helps.

thanks. I used your "drive faster" approach and shaved 2 seconds off my lap time. LOL. jk.

I think the ghost can provide an excellent visual aid for improving line in certain sections. = ) but now I know d pad turns it off, so Im gona take of for a bit.

01GTP,

thx for advice, work well for me, second account for UK, is good to know how others doing...

Good Luck for you and for all of us...

Got no hope but I'd love ghosts as they were in the first GT games, you could adjust the transparency and you could hear even the engine sound, if I'm not mistaken. It was fun.
