.gif profile pics not working

My profile pic, which is a .gif, isn't working. I anybody else experiencing this?

He set his avatar before I swapped out the back-end image processing software that's running on the server, which creates all the different sizes of avatars which are needed. The new software produces higher-quality resized images, but doesn't support animated GIF files. He can keep that one, but it won't work the next time he uploads a new one.

Personally I'm happy that .gifs are no longer supported in avatars. Most of them weren't really a problem but as usual there were a few who seemed to be making theirs deliberately obnoxious. And succeeding.

Damn. I liked cookie monster staring at the marbles.

I guess that is a small price to pay for an otherwise much upgraded site.

As I said above, most of the .gif avatars weren't really much of a problem. However a few went off the deep end, and I would prefer not to have .gifs at all than to have the really annoying ones and I'm guessing @TB would substantially agree.

If one wishes to draw attention to themself, far better to focus on quality post content than flashing gimmicks.

): I never noticed this when I uploaded my Fuu birthday avatar. Oh well, so sad. No point in having Mr. Sparkle as my avatar if it doesn't cause seizures everywhere, so I'll have to look for something else.
