Hey guys, just got onto GT and noticed in the news feed on the main menu that PD have temporarily disabled the gift car restriction. When you click on it it says they have temporarily disabled it due to the lack of even notifying us. But the restriction is going back on 3rd March. sorry if this has already been discussed. :)

Yep, seen it too. Shame, I don't like PD to control the way I play the game, the cars I give, the cars I'm given. Long gone are the days of memory card garages in GT3, and of freely gifting and getting cards among friends.

Online is a blessing, but it also makes us servants of the game's creators and only allowed to do whatever they think we should do with the game we bought from them.

Still only one gift per PS3, which is really, really annoying. Myself and my brother have far more than 7 cars on loan at the moment, so we are currently debating which 7 we will be allowed to get back, from each of the small number of people that have them. :\

The sending limit will not affect how many cars you can receive. So you can get all your cars back in one night as long as the people you lent them to sends them back! Now if the people you lent cars to would rather use their one send to do something else well then they are screwing you over purposefully.

See the problem is I have multiple friends to whom I lent a bunch of cars to when they started out. So they have 7 sends to do, but more than 7 cars. We decided on doing it in reverse order of value, but its still annoying.

yea for another 4 trade slots, so the 10 or so cars ive got off other people and the 10 cars of mine that theyve got i have to decide what they get back and have to wait and see what they decide to give me back, abso effing lutely ridiculous to implement something like this with NO WARNING and even more ridiculous that the grace they do give you is four days, 2 weeks notice would have been far more realistic.

I have a friend. Unlike myself playing since 1 he is starting with 5. I explained the past work the previous games so far have entailed in order to earn your favorite cars. As I began to play 5 I quickly noticed it will take some time to get all the cars I wanted. It did not bother me much as all of the GT editions have had some type of non enjoyable playtime needed to get what I personally wanted out of the game. So my friend starts to play and I gifted him a few cars. Just as it read. Gift. To help him along the way as a new player. A great idea. Also I have gifted to other more experienced player/friends cars I was proud to have earned and to take a spin. When I saw cars for sale on eBay I knew right away the system would change. Further, when the borrow system was introduced that sealed the deal. Anyone who thought that the gift system would last for a length of time past the borrow introduction should have seen the hit coming. The send system was not named trade, it was named gift. In addition, the cars designed by PD are not property of others to make income from. eBay sales caused this. Plain and simple. Proud player and a garage full of Group C's and LMS cars. TeamDrivetoBuy.

Or they implement a real trading system which in the end duping wouldn't be technically possible.

The only way to stop duping is either to stop people backing up their save (which would get PD lynched), or implement cloud based backups.

Just seen this....one hour after i sunk 4.3 mil into an Audi R8 Race Car from the UCD :(

...or was it 4.8 mil? :( :(

Oh well...back to the grind

This gives me just enough time to knock out my 5,000,000 cr and up car needs between my sons and I accounts. I just had to grind about 2,000,000 cr today. I won't be able to trade all the cars between accounts but at least we can share them. Makes this ban a little easier to cope with for us.

The key is you shouldn't be able to gift cars to yourself. Not just the same PSN ID but the same PSN account.

Each GT5 installation should have a unique VIN number such that you can't gift to the same VIN. If you have 2 separate PS3's with GT5 then do whatever you want.
