Hi,
For anyone who wants to see some pictures that I took while in Australia, you'll want to head on over here.

Featuring shots from the standard touristy Opera House:

to more artistic and unusual shots like the 12 Apostles:

there's a range of my work there. Comments are more than welcome.

Cool pictues Giles! I really like the one in your Off-Track section when it's early in the morning and you're looking at the big screen. Very pretty. :)

When I used to play piano I played in the left big window of the Opera House once. :) Nice pics Giles.

Nice job, Giles! What type of camera do you have, digital or film? If it's film, is it an auto or a manual? I prefer manuals myself, but your pictures look damn good for any camera!

Thanks very much! :O :)

It's a Canon EOS50e SLR that can be as auto or manual as I want it. Usually I set it to Aperture Priority and then work with the through-the-lens metering to set the shutter speed to be appropriate for the aperture that I want. I've only recently started really working against the metering, usually I just trusted the camera and was then disappointed with the results, but now I've got the confidence to push for what I think is right. It makes each trip to the developers something of an adventure, but there you go!

I've not go much kit for it, a 28-80 and 75-300 lens, both fairly cheap ones. I've also got a 2x converter and a polarising filter, both of which got quite a lot of work in Australia.

Heh. My dad has a fully-manual camera with a normal and wide-angle lense. The zoom got saltwater in it or something, so that became of no use plenty of years ago. I normally set my shutterspeed first, and then adjust the apature to make the light meter happy, and it provides good results for me. But maybe that's because I use black&white film and develop my prints myself at school.
Anywho, have fun shooting(pictures)!

That reminds me, I've never been to see the twelve apostles... We didn't take the coast route when we went to Melbourne, we went through Bendigo, Ballarat, most of those gold-mining towns.
