It usually gives me a good idea of what gear to be in for the upcoming turn. I have played enough to know what it will say before I get there though.....

You know, I find that little light has done wonders to help my game. I just ignored it for the first few months... And, with me ignoring it, I rammed every wall I could find.

I've found that watching the light really does help though - and the suggested gear works quite well too. Every now and again I'll find it's reporting either too high or too low, but it gives you a great feeling of a) when to brake and b) how much to brake - ie - how slow you'll need to be going.

Now I can actually stay off the beach on Grand Valley.

That little light can become obsessive at first. Then handy...

...then a pain!

It only took me a few laps to find a certain car's gear change point. The only times I found I was over-cooking it was on 2 player.
