As I've done alright from other contests recently and my young bloke is having his 17th birthday in a couple weeks, I'm going to run a 'running' contest to celebrate it.

Starting tonight, Tuesday 3rd July and every two days for the next fortnight at approx. 11.00pm Aussie time, I will put up clues to three answers in a particular category which will be named at the time. Some answers will be obvious and easy if you want to cheat with Google, some will seem obvious and not be, and some will be slightly or more than slightly cryptic. Some will require a little research on gtplanet. Some will have more than one obvious answer, and you just have to take the chance on which one.

On some occasions when life happens, the posting of the category and clues may be delayed, so that category will stay open to be answered until the new one is posted. Once I have posted each category, the previous one WILL be closed. This is about a bit of fun, so I don't want any bush lawyers throwing legalities at the thread. If this happens and the fun is taken out of it, I will not hesitate to close it. Please post all answers in the thread in this form:

GtPlanet id: abcdxxxyz

Category 1:
Answer a: xxxx
Answer b: xxxx
Answer c: xxxx

To make it easier, I will post the CLOSING TIMES which are AUSTRALIAN EASTERN STANDARD TIME, which is GMT +10:

Category 1 closes Thurs 5th July
Category 2 closes Sat. 7th July
Category 3 closes Mon. 9th July
Category 4 closes Wed. 11th July
Category 5 closes Fri. 13th July
Category 6 closes Sun. 15th July
Category 7 closes Tues. 17th July 11.00pm SHARP.

The competition will close at 11.00pm SHARP on the night of the 17th July Aussie time, and the winners announced late'ish on Wednesday night the 18th. There will be a running leaderboard posted within 24hrs (ideally) of the closing of each category. I will organise PSN's and FR's of the winners at the completion.

Whilst I am a 'little' more aged than a fine wine, I'll try to get a reasonable spread of clues to give our less than 'old school' players a fair chance. Google evens most things up these days anyway if you are able to use a little intuition and logic. As the answers are going to be posted here and others may have the opportunity to spot YOUR brilliant answer and copy it, I will give a triple point bonus to the first poster of a correct answer which is then posted by further players. All correct answers are worth 1 point.

Hopefully I've covered all eventualities in this, so let's have a bit of fun.

Category 1:
Answer a: Simpsons.
Answer b: Star Wars Epi IV
Answer c: Peter Gabriel was educated at Charterhouse School, Surrey, England. He was the lead singer of leading art rock band Genesis from its inception until he left in 1975 for a successful solo career as a singer-songwriter, soundtrack composer and innovator in visual presentation of music, music videos and digital methods of recording and distributing music. He also became well known as an anti-Apartheid activist, for his efforts to bring different styles of international music to the attention of the West by establishing the WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) Festival, his own Real World label and recording studios as well as the addition of world music performers and styles into his own music. He has also worked extensively for Amnesty International as well as many other humanitarian efforts, such as founding his own human rights organization Witness and co-founding, with Richard Branson and Nelson Mandela, world human rights advocacy group The Elders in July 2007. His dedication to humanitarian causes was recognized with the Nobel Peace Laureates' Man of Peace Award in 2006 and Amnesty International's Ambassador of Conscience honour in 2008. His career in music has been cited as an inspiration by many artists, including U2, R.E.M., Kate Bush, Moby, Marillion, Simple Minds, It Bites and Elbow.

His greatest commercial success came with the "So" album in 1986, which was a worldwide smash and earned him the British Phonographic Industry Award for British Male Solo Artist the following year. His lasting impact on music has been recognized by the Music Industry Trusts' Award in 2004, the Frankfurt Music Prize, the first Pioneer Award at the BT Digital Music Awards, the Q Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006, the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007, the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) Icon Award in 2007, the MIDEM Personality of the Year in 2008 and the Polar Music Prize in 2009. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010.

Updated. Sorry about the bumblebee red herring, but the warning was in the OP. :D Everything from here on in is all GT based so there should be some big numbers coming home. Newcomers have been gifted a point for joining as a thank you for helping bring a bit more interest on board. And everybody got one for trying as there was not a single correct answer for round two. That shouldn't be a problem from here on in. 👍

Good luck fellas.
