I don't know what to do with the credits the game keeps awarding me so I don't understand the need for an increase.

Yeah, just give us half we originally had for the seasonals.

When I grew up we didn't even have seasonals.

Never mind this 300% bonus malarkey.

Yea.👍 Everyone who has the game since release wouldn't post such a pointless thread.

@OP: you'll get now 200% for everything in the game. Go play online, it's more fun. :sly:

Can't even get a half lap around this race without mowing the grass!!! I don't know what happened to my car, but it was fine in the A-Spec FGT Championship. The other events are fine.

Online physics? Yea, very tricky. :sly:

Don't be greedy.
It's not even possible to be greedy in this situation.

Amazing.....how could ANYBODY not want more credits?

That's sort of a silly question, but you've got the right idea.

What's crazy is that people want other people not to have more credits. Some people would rather play car collector than racing, and apparently like it when things are a pain to get. That's fine. But they all go about it the wrong way. Instead of demanding that no one is allowed to make money, they should just avoid the best paying events.

I prefer the across-the-board 200% bonus, as someone said, that increases everything even Bob's income when you remote race. Kerrrching! (People clapping) level up!

I vote for a 500% bonus on your birthday, instead of a gift ticket :D

why need even (!!) more help to get credits ?

go on, ask for free cars and parts, and soon no one will play..

If PD gave us 300% bonus, I'd like to see the credit cap removed or raised as well. As it stands I make more money than I can spend and I don't even grind all that much. I bought a Miura for 15 mil, by the end of the day I was already up to 11 mil again.

^^^This^^^

Never fails to amaze me at how people can be given anything they want and will still complain about it. If you have a single acct, making more credits does not help in any way. AND if after a year of playing the game you don't have most of if not all the cars then you obviously don't play much. I work a full time job, plus was doing a webpage and still have been able to get my online racing in, and get ALL the cars in the game plus extras, so I guess I really don't understand the OP's complaint.

This.

If it was easy to get everything you wanted in the game, it would soon become boring, people would complain that the game was too short and easy, and would stop playing.

If only all threads on this subject could be as funny as this one...

I think 200% is fine, given that before the daily bonus thing most people were grinding Le Mans in a Ferrari. If the rewards are only doubled, the differences between most races aren't as acute as they were, so it may encourage people to grind a variety of races instead of just the one, though I'm sure there are those that will find the best credits per minute and grind that until they lose all enthusiasm to continue playing GT5.

I'm OK with 200% max. Kind of evens out the grinding focus a bit. With 300% I believe I would be back at Lemans in the Enzo again which I am totally burned out on. This way other track/car combinations seem more enticing.

Word. I was getting tired of just grinding seasonals to get money. Now with the 200% applying across the board, it doesn't mean I'm giving up a lot of potential money to go and replay A-Spec races.

Stop.

Assuming.

Nonsense.

If you don't enjoy racing, that is not my problem. I happen to enjoy racing, so to further my enjoyment of the game, I'd like the game to be short and easy so that I would never need to go into A-Spec. That way I could focus on playing the game.

I think getting 200k to 300k for every five minute race is enough. We are being spoiled compared to games like Gran Turismo 4 where we had to grind through an entire touring car event just to win around million credits in about an hour, now we can make multi millions easily within an hour or two.

Amazing.....how could ANYBODY not want more credits? And also it seems you people never even noticed the lowering the seasonal event credits....must not play GT5 often or something.

They didnt lower the credits, they put them back to their original value. When PSN came back we got the 3x temporary payout, that is gone now but instead we get 200% bonus on EVERYTHING. So really there is nothing to complain about.

amar212
Just the opposite mate - we play often enough and really don't know what to do with Credits being thrown upon us every day.

For one hour od play you can make +3 million in current Seasonals.

Play more, really.

This. You also get 200% credits if you cash in your B spec online racers. Between the X2010 challenge and the 8 drift/time trials, you can make $36,000,000 in an hour or so. If this is too slow, then you need to rethink your standards.

there is nothing to complain about.

There's plenty.

Credits were reduced for absolutely no reason. PD said it was temporary, but that's not an excuse. A premeditated bad idea is a bad idea.

Here's something that would have been better than what they did. Raise payouts 500% on everything, and then introduce low paying seasonal for people who don't want to be able to afford anything.

$36,000,000

Not even enough to buy 2 historic cars.

I think my assumption is far from nonsense. There are plenty of people who have already voiced their opinion on this forum that GT5 has far too little content, and that A-Spec should be much bigger. These same people would surely gripe if everything in the game could be bought/unlocked right away with bloated prize payouts.

You, as an individual may not be one of them, and I applaud you for that. But that doesn't change that what I said was true, a lot of people would complain if there weren't some cars/tracks/items that took a lot of work to get. For a lot of people, that's the point of a video game.

Yeah, I think all of the 'I've played every GT game ever made' types that complain about needing to grind seem to have forgotten the momumental amount of re-doing a number of races just to get their cash in GT4...

I remember. It was poor game design then, just as it is now.

BTW, GT4 had no 20,000,000 cars, or ludicrous level system, insane UCD, etc, etc.

And here's an ever better solution that what I though of in my last post. User selected payout. I can have it set at the credit cap for every race, someone else could max payouts at 50,000. Do as you wish. No reason not to have it.

Not even enough to buy 2 historic cars.

In one hour... Plus, you get another 12,000,000 in 2 time trials and 2 drift trials every week or two when a new seasonal comes out.

In one hour
1 time only. If you have the bonus.

That's not an hour.

That's not an hour.

That's an hour of play time. It gives you a week to spend $12,000,000+ and oh, I don't know, play the game. Online, tune a car, photo mode perhaps?

Yes, and that 1 hour can be sunk by as little as 1 car (Ferrari F1).

Time to play the game is the entire point. Credits take away time. So how about getting rid of credits to let people play the game?

And that hour can buy a hundred sports cars. There are only a few hyper expensive cars in the game.

Don't like credits? play rFactor. PD does plenty of catering to the instant gratification crowd. I remember when 1 lap of Sarthe in a Ferrari was worth 500,000 cr, people STILL whined that they needed faster money.

Well somehow I missed this post, but if you're applying that to only a certain group of people, it's a fair statement. However I can't help but think from the way the original post was worded that is a bit of a generalization. Basically, although some people would not like cars being freely available, there are probably just as many who feel the opposite. So you can't say that people in general would stop playing because of unlocked content. I know that having to earn credits in GT4 just made the game painful after a while. If GT5 didn't have online, my copy would have probably been sold.

Also, locking content solves none of the problems you brought up. Having to buy cars does not increase the number of cars or events. Increasing the number of cars events would be the right thing to do. I also don't think that the people would "surely" gripe. They would gripe if they bought the game to be a collector perhaps, but if they bought the game to race, they would probably be griping about everything being locked away.

A few? 95 cars cost over 1,000,000. If you assume that all cost 1mil, that's 95 million credits just to get 95 cars. But we all know it will cost way more than that. And it costs even more than that when you factor in GT Auto.
Don't like credits? play rFactor.
rFactor =/= GT.
PD does plenty of catering to the instant gratification (year right) crowd.
Says you.

And they had every right to. You shouldn't need to earn credits at all. Spoils the fun of the game. Though of course, if you'd like to earn credits, by all means go ahead. Wouldn't bother me while I spend my time enjoying the cars.

My original post did sound a bit of a generalization, didn't it? I didn't intend to say everyone was like that, but I do believe it's comfortably more than half.

Opinion. A valid one to have, but still an opinion. In my equally valid opinion, locking content, and needing to progress through the game to unlock it, provides a challenge that many people look for in a game. If I had every car right away, I honestly wouldn't like it. It gives me a reason to keep playing all the different parts of the game.

Probably the best reasoning I've seen for increasing payouts. But I still think a balance needs to be there so that you can't get everything right away. I think the current 200% bonus isn't too bad of a middle ground. But that's just my opinion.

Imagine psn went down again and they gave us 300% again + the 200 we already get.

We'd be rich!

Fair enough.

Well, I was trying to look at it objectively. If the issue is missing content, the best solution is to add content. I think everyone will agree on this. Locking content can make the existing content last longer, by force, but it does not actually increase the amount of content. I'm not really into GT for the single player, but I do share the opinion that A-Spec is sparse, and needlessly so. To me, forcing you to wait to get the limited content just aggravates things. Though I suppose that to some people, how something is presented is just as important as the thing itself. It's probably the same for me in some cases. Honestly though, I just wish everyone would let the other side do what they want. Make GT Mode optional, the earners can earn, and the racers can just skip to the point where there's nothing to earn and do what they want.
