Giving up ?

I really hope this thread dosnt get closed .... prays really hard..... but im trying to get an idea of just how many memebers are getting pushed away from the game due to the recent "lack of interest" due to the mismatching, frozen systems and so on.

If we could keep it related to frustration due to the online racing matching issues it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 👍
 
I've been focusing on WRS the last 2 weeks and have found new challenges there - I'm hoping for new events in the next update - maybe a high PP Daytona Road and an Eiger event again.
 
I've lost the motivation to play the game. :indiff:
 
I haven't given up entirely, but I can't even win a single A class race...so I have put it on hold. God damn I suck.
 
playing that game makes me want 5 even more. Online play is fun when you get good opponents.
 
Since the latest PS3 update I have not even been able to play online as I keep on getting errors? Has anybody else suffered this?

I only really do time trials and play online.
 
Thanks for the comments guys but there is a thread dedicated to the errors. My main goal with this thread is to see how many people have strayed away from racing online caused by the issues some or most of us experience.

But ive had no problems with online, really enjoying 800pp Suzuka and recently started the WRS and getting back into it, just really want 5 now..
 
About 3 weeks ago it was a real problem with all the disconnects - seems to have got alot better...but yeah i just gave up last weekend trying to connect with the euro crew at Fuji 512BB (tried for 1hr)
 
I've really lost interest in GT5P, I sometimes do WRS events but I rarely race online anymore. So many failed matches and so on. There hasn't been an F2007 online event for a long time.... :crazy: Oh well grabbing NFS Shift on the weekend and that looks to be a ripper so I'm happy. :)
 
I have given up on a few evenings, as you well know CT, due to failure after failure only to be finally put in a race with 2 clio's. It certainly hasn't made me give up, but it makes me less likely to rush to get on GT5p in an evening. As a plus side, my WRS is improving!
 
I know what you mean. Had a number of nights where it would be an hour until i eventually get into any sort of race. Its not making me want to give it up but like you im not in a rush anymore to switch the system on to get online
 
I've pretty much finished with GT5P now. I am still doing the odd thing with SCR, but apart from that nothing. Just have no motivation to play it. Also, last time I played it, I got heaps of "failed to connect". So been playing a lot of rFactor lately. I will probably grab NFS Shift too, Heard it's really good.:D

There's something in the pipe that might help get a little more interest back in GT5P.

?.... Sounds interesting... what could it be? :sly:
 
A lot of you make it sound like you find GT more of a chore than any fun. The is always arcade racers like PGR and SHIFT if you wan't a more exhilerating experience as opposed to a realistic one.
I'm not sure wether to go and get SHIFT today, someone please convince me it's worth it. As a pointer though if it's anything like GRID, i'm not interested, that games handling physics and graphics suck ass, only good thing is the damage and smoke.

Nothing that great mate, just a simple idea that might help the few dedicated driver's still playing GT5P to have a more enjoyable online experience. I'm waiting for aproval.;)👍

Now, why would we go and do a thing like that?

I've not played online in ages, so haven't experienced any issues there, but I have just deleted my save game so I could play through it again.

Just get off your high horse and get it... :lol: Its nothing like GRID... The Physics models is proper and once you turn off the HUD... Its like a SIM... ;) I love it and many others here as well... If its better or as good as the coming GT5? Cant say.. but in the mean time I am having a blast with this game... nice and fresh :D

I see... well if I can peel myself away from Shift and its an interesting event I might join ;)
 
I'll be getting Shift soon I guess, it may be hard to keep playing Prologue when I do. I want to keep my practice up so I don't lose speed before GT5 comes out though.:ouch:
 
I'm pretty much done with the "Prologue" , just for how long can you race at the same 5 tracks , I know I just can't do it anymore (and I don't want to start hating on suzuka , hsr or daytona , it is good enough I have fuji on my hate list ;) ). I'll be having my farewell online tour with it after next online events update, but I'm not sad , I have many other games to keep me occupied during the wait for the release of the full game..
 
I personally am sick of the same tracks. Off to NFSS until GT5. I never had many matching ssues, minus the couple days after the update, or whatever the problem was.
 
I would still be playing online but my PS3 died, thats my only reason. I still have an interest in the game, but I guess most have moved on now with GT5 so close.
 
I'm still playing, but not nearly as much as before. Where I used to play maybe 10-15 hours per week, spending large blocks of my Saturdays doing race after race, I'm now doing maybe an hour or two on the weekend maximum.

I've been playing a bit of Dirt 2 recently, and plan on getting NFS: Shift. That, plus GT Mobile should tide me over until GT5 is released.
 
I still play, but not as much as before. I race mainly time trails because there is so much matching failed and so few online racers. I need my driving fix and gt5p is only sim i got in the moment, i might get SHIFT soon though.
 
I still love GT5P but have given up on it. After 18 months of driving around Suzuka even I have grown tired. Online activity is null in NTSC land, beyond the beginner races which are fun for a one off but not serious racing. Even PAL seems to have dropped off, though I'm not around during peak PAL racing windows.

Need for Speed: Shift is far too engaging and GTPSP will be a further distraction. I'm looking forward to GT5's launch and will shift my focus there when it does but until then I doubt I'll pop the GT5P disc in for anything more than a lap or two.

I don't think my playing habits have changed at all, since I got the game. Since I got GT5P, the online events have only been able to entertain me for a week or so. Racing the same online events over and over gets a bit boring, so I tend to go to Arcade Mode where I can mix it up a bit (although, rather limitedly).
 
Its been some time since I lost interest for GT5p. Some times I miss the GTP tagged battles, but to race around Suz got real boring in the end. Atm im verry happy racing GTR. It contains hundreds of tracks and lots of different cars and represents sim racing like no other titel out there is even close to in my view. Ill see you all when GT5 arrives my PS3.

I could be wrong but I'm sure i've just hosted a race, something that I haven't done since all the problems started. I got the 'now creating race' instead of 'now joining race'. I'm really hoping we're back to the old system - flawed as it was, at least you could connect
