Does the need to fix glitches slow PD's progress in making useful updates?

What I don't understand is why they don't just reset the car to the track if it hits a wall.

Unless anyone knows that the person who fixes track errors is the same person who adds in-race saves or updates models to premium, one can't really make a claim either way.

It likely causes problems in the office when people have to work on other stuff, but who knows.

Well, you spend more time gaining money
This is less time racing, the point of the game for many. Especially if the only racing in the game is online, which doesn't pay anything, meaning you're forced to go offline to "race".

and because you take your time, and enjoy racing by making the game difficult for yourself(driving underpowered cars), and therfore you get satisfaction winning the cars.
Doesn't apply to me and half the people on this board. I do enjoy racing, but it's only found online. Any time spent in GT Mode is time wasted. Rerunning a race 500 times just to find a car that makes me slow enough to just beat the one fast AI car isn't fun, and how the car is obtainaed has absolutely zero impact on how satisfying it is to drive. All the cars I've "earned" in my garage are worth no more than the ones I've duped. The cars are what they are, their rarity, costs, paint color, number of miles, number of switches, or if they were won by putting up with the AI for long periods of time or not means nothing.

And like i said to the other mintberrycrunch, there is b-spec and remote racing, or make a second account, and start again, try winning the game without spending money on cars.

B-Spec is something that does not belong in a game. At the very least it shouldn't be "mandatory". I only bother with it for 2 reason, I have the X1 and the prize cars.

Now I know what you said applies to some, but please, please, don't take it as the default position. I think it's clear on this forum that some people just can't put up with a [fun] game designed like this [ie, very badly in their minds]

It's completely ridiculous that PD is actually spending time patching out of track glitches, but won't give us a new aerodynamics model, fix some of the cars, give us more online options, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Glitches and gameproblems have to be patched before any content will be added. It is more important to me that a system works, than having x more features but still a buggy game.

Well, I thought this was a basic enough of a question, so I (hopefully) contributed to the conversation. Unfortunately, it seems both the "anti-glitching rhetoric" and the "pro-glitching rhetoric" soapboxes have been dragged out, stood on, and spoken from.

I don't personally see how any opinion on "glitching" factors into answering the question asked, and is detracting from a discussion of the original question.

Bummer...

I really don't have much of a clue on this. On the one hand, I'm suspecting that major updates comes once every two months and if we see a week delay, then it's probably because of the glitches. However, we also have to remember the tsunami hit Japan, so that probably delayed our updates that we want so much by at least a month.

I think we should wait until late May to see whenever or not it does affect Polyphony Digital. Both sides contribute valid arguments, but I'll give it time before deciding.

I'm not sure I understand how this is something that is actually be polled. It is a black and white thing, and to be frank the people who think that it is the reason for lack of updates don't know what they are talking about. Zabiela said basically all that needs to be said on the issue.

In reality, fixing these bugs probably does not slow GT5 patch and content availability. Why?

There are two teams of developers, those working on GT5 maintenance and patch/DLC content, the other is the GT6 development team. Since these bugs fall under the category of engine faults the GT6 team likely gets the assignment to fix it because the same code is going to be put straight into the GT6 source code development tree. Once they have a fix there, they simply back port it to GT5.

I don't glitch and I do not care if anyone else does. The only person that could answer this question is PD themselves. If PD had a website where they could gripe about consumers who interact with their products. I wonder what their threads would look like.

Probably like 2chan... Japanese everywhere and you the random English poster who gets no response.

50/50 because the glitches are making the game seem unpolished, but wouldn't it be better for PD to fix other things first then do the easy job of fixing glitches? Add in race saves and Replay controls now, then when thats done fix the glitches.
