Glowing Brake Discs

Im sorry GTP if this has already been noticed but i cant find it anywhere, but ive just noticed that brake discs are glowing when your brakeing hard, it only seems to happen on premium cars but it just goes to show how every little detail is thought of in this game!

You're from Leeds and you can't spell "brake?" Isn't Leeds in the U.K. where they speak English? :confused:

Gran Turismo has had glowing brake-disc effects since GT3, where they were vastly overdone (imo) but awesome to look at anyways.

I never noticed it on GT3 but it is nice to look at, looks amazing on my DB9 in matte black!
 
Yeah, glowing brake is nothing new to Gran Turismo. I don't recall how far back it goes though.
 
The glowing brake discs in GT5 aren't realy glowing IMO like they did in GT3. But since brakes can't be upgraded in GT5, maybe this is more realistic for most of the cars (with metal brake discs).
 
They only glow red on premium cars and not on tracks created in the track editor. Correct me if i`m wrong but i have never seen them glow on a custom track. Beats me why though?

Yeah that's kind of weird. Shouldn't make a blind bit of difference what track we are driving on, as it is the car that is modelled.

As for the original point - it does look fupping fantastic. 👍

I've tried to get my brakes to light up with my premium cars but can't see them in Photo mode, What is the best car to try it with?

In addition it kind of reminds me when I was late for work and driving 'enthusiastically' in my Civic, I had recently had new brake pads fitted and by the time I parked up at work there was smoke coming from the pads, I managed to set them on fire on the drive in. :)
 
I came straight from PS1 and GT2, so glowing brakes is new to me. I noticed it when taking a picture of my orange Viper ACR under heavy braking, trying to get a picture of the brake lights lit up. Went to the side of the car, and low and behold my discs were matching the color of my car! Was pretty sweet :)
 
The Glowing red brakes are kind of old news. I remember seeing them in Gran Turismo 4, but I'm not fully sure about GT3 since it was pretty long back.
 
in Formula 1 they do glow even in day light well obviously 1000 degree's is very visible in day light , well actually even LMP1 or GT1 cars in the FIA division the brakes glow visibly even at day light even if its not as hot as an F1 car's.
