God of War 2 wow!

So there's this power called "Rage Of The Titans" that I just won. You activate it by pressing both the L3 and R3 analogs but my controller is old and pressing the L3 doesn't work anymore.

Best of all, this power is necessary to go through some parts, so I'm stuck until the new controller I bought arrives. Woo hoo...

This title is looking more interesting to me, but I've yet to purchase the first one. I still play with the demo, which doesn't look as good on the PS3 as it does on the PS2.

I think it's time I went out and got it. lol
 
You should get both for sure. One of the best franchises on the PS2, if not the best. But if you do, make sure to play the first one before you jump onto this one so you get the background of it.

Yeah, I've been delaying this too much. The first time I played the demo, I didn't like it. Too much of the same moves; hack and slash, hack and slash. However, a month or so later I stuck with it to finish the level. It then seemed like a better game with some puzzle elements to it.

After viewing some videos about it, I realize it's more of a action/adventure game. It has upgradeable weapons, which I like, upgradeable health and special power levels, and it just seemed like a game I'd really like.

I gotta' go get this one and the first one.
 
Finished it this morning... cool end cinemas... I thought the Zeus battle would have been harder. Still, an awesome game! I imagine I'll have to get a PS3 to play GOW 3... oh well :D.

That City of Rhodes thing is interesting... never heard of it before. Might be some sort of spin-off or prequel?

Probably. A prequel would be very nice, showing Kratos story leading his army, up to when he made his pact with Ares.

It's been said the PSP version will also be just a side story, not a real sequel to GoW 2. I'm sure they'll save GoW 3 to the PS3.
 
Indeed WOW what a great game GoW 2 is!

Not only the graphics are top-notch but the design of the world is really the best Ive seen in a game.
 
My only problem with GOW II is that getting the extra stuff is too hard. Granted there should be some "ultimate" stuff you can get. But you can't even do the challenge of the titans before you beat the game. You have to beat the challege of the titeans to get the Areana of fates. I'm sorry, but that's just weak as weak gets. The arena of fates is supposed to be a place to PRACTICE your combat. But you have to nearly perfect your combat(beat the last challenge without getting touched) just to unlock it. It's really an illogical setup.

The game itself is great. But the fact that so many of the extra features are so hard to get, makes me want to play other games instead. :)

You just have to refresh the page. It has some videos but I can't see them here at work. There's some text also but the size is too small on a 800x600 resolution, so I couldn't quite figure out what it's about.
 
Uh, that's more or less worthless. A semi-cool history lesson, but nothing more. I'm glad I didn't know about it until AFTER it was unveiled. I would've been very upset. :D

And I'm glad I slept at the GF's last night and she doesn't have internet at home. Otherwise I would stay up until midnight for nothing.
 
So stuff actually happened for you guys? When the timer ran out last night... all it did for me was re-set to 2 days and started counting down again. :odd:

Edit: Ya, so I went back there and hit 'Refresh'... what a friggin' waste of time! Basically the same (only worse) as the DVD that came with the game.

It's because the website countdown used your computer time as the base. If you had changed the time in your computer it would change on the website too. So until it was midnight at the right place (I don't know where) the clock would just reset after reaching zero.
 
It's pretty sweet. I'm quite sure it would look much better on an HD TV. :)

I'm playing GOW-I right now and there's a big difference between regular mode and progressive mode. I imagine the difference between progressive mode and HD mode is about the same as that.

I'm not sure if I'll get GOWII anytime soon. There's parts of GOW-I that I cannot stand, though there are parts I absolutely love. I can wait for it to go on sale.

Speaking of GOW, I played through once and now I'm on my second trip through using the cow costume. LOL. The cool thing about it is the infinite magic. It makes the game a breeze. Not as fun, yet still fun to go through the game quickly. I used a rubber band trick to gain 60,0000 red orbs with the cow costume. The part where you kill Harpies coming out of the wall; if you use the Medusa Head, the game will automatically aim for the Harpies. So, all you need to do is hold down L2 and [] button. Put some rubber bands down, and go fix yourself a sandwich while the game racks up 199 bars of red orbs. Took about 40 minutes, or so.
 
There has been an outcry over the launch event for God Of War 2 in the UK..... really distasteful (although in keeping with the theme of the game) OPM has had to recall all the prints to remove the images of a slaughtered goat and other obscene stuff and this is going to do really hard damage to Playstation 3 and Playstation in general. Its almost as bad as the stupid "this is living" campaign.....
