The date thing, by the clock, says 16.
The last 16 was in December before the 2.02 update and the DLC.
Just bringing attention to it.

That would mean it is more likely to be genuine as only PD would have access to the 86gt. I don't see how that information of the date really changes anything.

Obviously the patches and new tracks are available to the developers first. You know, they make them.

Would have been in beta-testing presumably 💡

Route X was in the Spec 2.0 opening video, although in an unfinished state.

Maybe the clock wasn't properly set. Maybe they didn't bothered. Maybe they indeed took the screenshot from their machines that run different software than ours on the 16th.

Does it matter anyways?

BREAKING NEWS!
Developer plays update while developing!

^^ "No way!"

That movie is a classic.

btw. the "Speed Test" in the left corner... So, can be possible, that there is more "test"!?

Looks like there is a skidpad course as there is a gforce test and a figure 8 course.

To stay on topic about the screen shots, I got some questions about the track still.

I'm assuming it is safe to say that it is going to be dynamic time. But what about weather? I'm guessing there will be weather by the night time screen shot.

Anyone know what the green figure 8/infinite emblem means? What mode of play would that be for?

The day time screen shot looks like it has a "lot" with cones lined up. Maybe some kind of tuning playground? Probably just my wishful thinking here...

anyone else have any assumptions?

Since every track in GT5 that has day/night cycles also has weather, I would assume this track does as well.

EDIT: In fact, we know it does. The old Spec II trailer showed the X2011 in the rain on it I believe.

Anyone who played Prologue would know that's the old "Free Run" logo (Or maybe it was the TT Demo). It's basically a mode that lets you do free run.

Yeah, I think its a free run mode. The logo looks more like an infinity symbol, indicating its free run.

Its been so long since playing GT5P that I cant recall that. I figured it might be an infinite free run...

I'm not sure why you want weather on the test course, as it's only beneficial to run on the best possible condition. I can see day night cycle, but not weather.

A proper test course should always be wet. ;)

Weather would be optimal as I'm sure that there is no doubt there will be racing on it. :)
If we are going by weather isn't beneficial to doing test run's, who run's test's at night? Other than people testing light's or their night time driving.

Anyone down for some 300 PP action on X Course?
Someone on another thread had suggested it's 15 miles long, I'm curious what kind of lap times we'll be seeing n the 500 PP range. I'll take a wild guess: 8 min laps.

Or at least have a big wet skidpan section for just going Bonkers if you choose to. :dopey:

I'd be down for that, if it's 15mi long though I'd guess a 500pp car would lap it in about 5mins as the 24 Nürburgring is 16.123mi long with alot of turn's and doesn't take much longer than your estimate.

Your right on, my math was way off. If we assume a 500 PP car will average 150 mph over 15 miles, that should produce a 6 minute lap. But, we don't know much about the track so it's all speculation.

Agreed, my 500pp car's eclipse 190 on Nür though and that's with a limited straight. As there is absolutely nothing to slow down for the miles will fly by add in a draft to those 500pp car's and we have heaven.

This course addition looks to be great, but I don't think it's just one one course more like a large course that can be broken into sections for other testing purposes. Nice addition PD, now I understand why they didn't just chuck the old GT3/4 test course in GT5. Let's hope someday we get the Complex String, I loved that course.

PD please, oh please don't keep baiting us with clips of cars using the TGTT drag strip and the Red Bull test course and we can't use them. Very unfair, that Red Bull course looks ace at night, that would be incredible to race on at night. I'm thinking that speed pack might do just that...one can only hope.

I still think they could have improved Machine Test one step further by introducing detailed acceleration data, braking tests, handling tests of different kinds, etc.

0-100 Km/h, 0-200 Km/h, 0-400m, 0-1000m, top speed, skidpad g acceleration, make me think... is this all for a feature it took over a year to implement? Either PD developers lack imagination or believe we're all dumb and can't handle too much information.

Perhaps they think that the licence tests are enough in that respect...

How so? You don't get objective and detailed test data for your car with license tests.
Such options would be offered as a tool to improve your car or learn more about it, not as a simple "fun" goodie.

But we can already get that data, no?

I mean, loading a replay into Data Logger can provide you with the very detailed data about engine performance.

With Machine Test data and Data Logger visualisations combined, we will be able to extract much more than we can now. Of course, implementing numeric suspension load data - not just visual as it is at the moment - into the overall picture would be very welcomed, not even to mention fantasy of getting camber results in visual form.

One day maybe.

Its funny how it notes G-Forces as a testable aspect. Had no idea there was an official way of recording it on GT5. 👍 Good to see.
