the police pulled me over once, they claimed i was going too fast on a roundabout, fair enough but this time i wasn't, they just assumed that because they were at the lights and i passed them quickly. blah, police are useful at removing drunk and disorderly drivers but when the hassle people who drive fast but obey all other rules i get pissed off.

if two people are racing on the road, fair enough book em, but if you're doing 110mph on an empty motorway, why bother?

im sure that when im doing 130mph on an empty motorway at 2am, im far less of a danger than a woman who's driving through a school zone at 30 whilst talking on the phone... yet guess who is going to get their license removed (hint: it isn't the person who SHOULD :D) heh

if the national language in germany was english i'd move there heh. but you have to make do with what u've got i guess.

one more point about speeding, i've noticed that most people i've been driving with are afraid/dont feel comfortable driving at more than 100mph even if they are allowed (i.e. germany). i totally don't understand the logic behind it. i know its obvious but it clearly doesnt work and just gets otherwise law-abiding people in trouble.

just as an asside is it a myth or are there states in the usa that have roads with no limits? does anyone know?

AMEN BROTHER.....I agree with you 100% I see no reason why I should go 45 if there is no one on the road but me...how am I posing a risk to anyone but myself if I choose to speed on an empty roadway? about the thing about people not liking to go over 100mph...I noticed that when I go over 100 I feel perfectly fine but when I'm with someone else I get kinda worried....maybee Its cause I feel like I'm in controll...anyway...about the speed limit....montana used to have a no speed limit policy...the speed was supposed to be "reasonable"...I figure If you car can go 200 mph then 150 is perfectly reasonable....however people abused it and now I think its 80 or something like that.....I'm not sure tho..just what I heard.

me too. above 80 or 90 mph, if the person im driving with hasn't put in as many gran turismo hours as i have i dont feel comfortable (which is virtually everyone heh).
its all about being in control. my dad is a good driver but he doesn't have much concept of drift/opposite lock etc whilst driving through germany a few years ago, snow started falling and the motorway was instantly covered, and we 180'ed... we weren't travelling quickly because people had slowed down and we didnt hit anything but i knew that had i been driving it probably wouldn't have happened.

Apologies if this has been posted somewhere else in this thread:

I couldn't be stuffed reading all these, so I just copy & pasted them into a Word document. The Word document is 13 pages long you know!
