Hi guys,

So I just bought gt5 and I've been reading nothing but "buy mitsubishi lancer when you can afford it" :yuck:

Is there a decent car with more "muscle" than that, that would fare decently on early courses? I was hoping for a mustang, but it looks like the 'stang gt doesn't do that great. I'll probably buy it anyways for the sound :D.

Any suggestions? Too bad they don't have the new mustang gt 5.0 in the game. That thing would be BEAST.

Well since its muscle you want, a fully-tuned RM'd 1970 Challengers pretty good

Nissan 300ZX is a good one, or an early Skyline, but as soon as you can afford it, you must get a 458 Italia, best car for the price

If your just starting the game I would recommend doing the license tests 1st. You will receive a prize car for completing each test. There not the best cars to race with but should suffice for some of the earier races. Not to mention the money you'll save by not having to buy race specific cars, fr, ff, 4wd, etc. After you've won a few races you'll have earned enough credits and levelled up enough to get a decent car of your liking. Also, try the special events as they are unlocked as they will reward you with a fair amount of money/exp. As for what car to get, that is a matter of personal preference. You'll need to find a car to suit your driving style. Personally, I recomend an RX-7 though. The FC is a good beginner car that can be tuned to have a decent amount of power and it is easy to drive. If you're wanting more power try a newer model. Hope this helps. Good luck.

What's wrong with a good ol' Honda Civic?

I know it's not muscle, but a lot of the early events require a small hatch.

I started the game with a copen, and that thing was frustratingly slow (and I'm a muscle car guy myself), so i just dealt with it until i could get the mach 1, that thing kicked butt, I ended up fully tuning it and putting a few hundred miles on it doing as many ASpec races with it as I could, until I bought my 599, and don't forget to do the special events for cars too, and try to get the penniless trophy early on, otherwise you'll have to acquire 20 mil and burn it on a car which'll take forever

if your after muscle, one of the best muscle type cars in the game is either the Corvette ZR1 or the Camaro SS 2010. Race modified or not, those cars will serve you well. Also, the '69 Camaro is a winner, race modded or not on this one also. Good Luck!

How are the newer mustangs in this game? I've been drooling over the new 5.0 mustang gt (IRL), so I've been on a mustang hitch lately?

Of course, I'm gonna have to get me that 1969 camaro! That's been my dream car since I was a little kid.

At an early level my friend gave me a fully tuned Z4 '03, solid car for lower races.

2010 Camaro SS, 35,000 credits and is pretty quick off the "showroom floor" but tune it and it's a whole new animal. Not to mention it can also be race modified.

You win the Go Kart!

Yea but its the cheapest thing to get started. Once you buy that, you wont need to buy anything else as long as you stick to the Specials to about level 15. By then you will have racked up close to half a million and can buy a car you want.

Miatas can be very fast and they are cheap.

The Mustang GT responds well to tuning and setup. Don't overlook the 71 Mustang in the Ford NCD either. Very good car.

Find something that will work in a Seasonal race and you can get a lot of money very fast. Try a mini or something for the compact car race.

I found a silvia to be a good way to start. Minimal investment will make a car that will win in many catagories.

Yeah, the special races allow us to earn a fair amount of money quickly, helping to choose a good one suiting our fondness and sense for cars. Including other events other than the one for Go karts alone.
