There is so much more to taking the perfect screenshot. I don't know if you tried WipEout HD. In here you can pause the game and then move the camera freely. You can zoom, focus, adjust light and many other things. This should be the things we should see in GT5 or maybe even GT5P.

I understand, but that is something I consider 'photomode', which is an ingame feature. A generic 'screenshot' utility in XMB would have far less features, but it would always work, independent of what you are running (you might take a screenshot of XMB, or a movie or a picture, or the PSN store, or the web browser or whatever you are viewing if you want). :)
 
My understanding of this feature is that 3rd parties are able to allow or refuse it. Screen grabbing at system level shouldn’t need any form of development for them.

What you talk about is photo mode, not taking a simple screenshot.👍

Well just another nice addition we won`t be able to use like ingame music and voice chat. I really don`t understand why games need a patch for, PCs can do this for ages!
BTW who invented the term `Next Generation`for gaming consoles ; I mean made sense for Star Trek, but come on... higher resolution, lower framerates that`s it? Wow...
*Ok, sorry for the rant, but I´m a bit disapointed with all these delays and broken PRomises. :yuck:
 
The only question is which button will be assigned to it.

I see, well was just it would be perfect for GT imo.
Actually should be optional of course and keyboard would be a very good option aswell. 👍
 
Didn't some games already use the print screen button for taking screenshots?
I believe MGS4 already did that.

Not sure about the print button, but in MGS4 however you could take photos with a second controller while playing the game with the other controller , very handy.
The thing is devlopers could have make a simple screenshot-functionality from 1st day, but haven't. Now I don't see how this update is going to change anything, but time will tell.
