Speed is launching Speed2

Here is a list of the initial series' it will feature.

• German Touring Car (DTM)
• World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)
• Intercontinental Rally
• British Touring Car Championship (BTCC)
• FIM Motocross World Championship (All-Terrain Motorcycle Racing)
• FIM Supermoto World Championship (Motorcross and Off-Road Racing)
• FIM Enduro World Championship (Long Distance Off-Road Motorcycle Racing)

Nice! We have SPEED at home, but it's over Satellite. I take it this will only work over standard cable lines?

Awesome lineup. I love these. Now all I gotta do is get Speed. Lol.

You mean I'm finally going to get a channel that shows racing? that's awesome no more pinks and pass time and what ever other garbage they have on there.

It's over the internet, so as long as you're TV provider has an agreement with Fox/SPEED you will have access. It sounds like Time Warner will be first, than they will add more.

Edit: @FK

They have said Speed2 will not have any NASCAR.

I just hope they have a good upload rate because I don't want to try and be watching a race that hangs every 10 seconds to buffer. And maybe now we Americans will get 24 hour coverage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with out having to go online and find a MotorsTV broadcast

They streamed the 12hours Sebring when it wasn't on TV and there were no hangups what so-ever.

As do I, but I think this is more of a way to free up more room on SPEED for NASCAR by moving the rest to the internet channel.
My bigger problem is that I don't have Speed because I can't justify the cost of adding digital cable and the sports package just to watch ALMS and a handful of other races on what I have just come to think of as NASCAR TV. So, I'm not even sure I can get this.

I have no clue why they don;t offer this for $5 or $10 a month for non-Speed subscribers, especially since they seem completely aware that the heavy NASCAR focus on speed is why they need this. They are basically telling US customers that they have to pay for NASCAR in order to get decent non-NASCAR coverage.

Or, for non-Speed transcribers, create like a racing version of Hulu so that I don;t get to watch it live but I can still watch it later. I would still pay a fee for that.

You need to put a NASCAR Preview, NASCAR Post-Preview Review, NASCAR Review Preview, NASCAR Review, and NASCAR Pre-Post-Preview Review of the Pre-Review Recap in there as well.

I do like this lineup, but I would like to see maybe WRC. I know it's on HD Theater here in the states, but they only show highlights, and the races are 3 weeks old by the time they show it.

Ha!! Is funny 'cause is true!!!

But seriously though, this is pretty exiting. It'll get me interested in more than just F1, since that's pretty much the only thing SPEED shows that isn't NASCAR, which I hate.

Lack of NASCAR? I approve. I know a lot of people like it but it's not for me, I'm glad they are catering to fans of other series though!

Lets hope Speed lives up to this array of events. It would be very nice to see other forms of motorsports on TV.

I wish there was a racing channel that was ALL racing, ALL the time. No 30 minute shows or much of anything pre-recorded. There's always a race happening live somewhere.

I remember before Speed started to suck and I used to work 2nd shift I would come home at around midnight and turn it on to see things like motorcycle ice arena racing. After a long day at work it was one of the most awesome things I could come home to.

On a weekend maybe.

It's a fairly mouth-watering line-up for sure, but if it's anything like the UK's MotorsTV (which in itself broadcasts a lot of Speed productions) you'll end up with endless re-runs of the IM Motocross World Championship. Either that or pre-recorded footage of obscure mainland European national champonships overdubbed by some English speaking French guy with all the charisma and racing knowledge of a soggy pomme frite.

All Fox has to do now is create a Speed2 cable/satelite TV channel with NO modern Nascar coverage of any form and I'll be satisfied. :)

I'm slightly confused now...

Is there going to NASCAR or not? That's why I don't care much for SPEED as it is; every other hour: NASCAR.

EDIT: Wait, what the hell? I just realized how old this thread was... :odd:

Way to gravedig, Mac.

What the heck? 2010? Speed was advertising Speed2 on there website today saying it was brand new, so I searched for a thread discussing it and posted.. Didn't look at the dates. My bad.

Speed drug their feet on this quite a bit. I have a feeling the success of ESPN3.com got them to step it up a bit more.

Now they just need to find a way to get this on devices for my TV.
