While it would be sad to see such a great studio like Bizarre Creations go away, it's employees could find themselves back working on the PGR series, which would be awesome.

UPDATE: An official statement from Activision mentions that because of Blur's lackluster sales, they're looking at what to do with the company including the possibility of selling it.

Well, Activision, I'm sure Microsoft would be willing to by them back.

I heared the news, Activision is simply stupid...

Agreed. 95% of what Bizarre creates is awesome. Blur was great! Blood Stone felt right, and the only reason it didn't get higher scores in my book, is because of some annoying glitches. Heck, even The Club was decent.

They will be missed.

No, they won't. Microsoft will most likely recruit all of 'em and start a new studio with 'em since they're looking to revive PGR, and who better to do that than the people apart of the original developing studio?

Right. That could be why Microsoft has been waiting to choose their PGR developer. If they are going to use the former Bizarre employees for PGR5, at least, then we'll know it'll be an awesome title...with a plethora of impossible achievements.

Some of PGR's achievements were a pain in the ass, weren't they? I hate the team achievements for multiplayer...do you know how many times I've won 'Red vs. Blue" races with the rest of my team scattered about? Yet, the opposing team always seemed to finish in a neat little pack. :grumpy:

I just remember the "Take a picture and have get to number 1" achievement for PGR3 or 4. And I was just like "Yeah, how many people are going to EVER get that?"

How is their fault Blur tanked? The new 007 game is getting average scores too. It shows they are a one trick Pony(recent games)...... ....plus geometry wars

They wanted freedom from MS and it did not pay off. They are better off trying to work with Sega and reviving Metropolis Street Racer.

Blur may have tanked, but it is a great game. And their 007 game actually feels like a Bond movie. It feel right, there are just a few issues that kinda kill the mood. But, hey, for their first Bond game, they did an awesome job.

And they've created some games that have become very popular like Geometry Wars. They're a really talented developer. It would suck if they got shut down, but I think, with the right publisher, they could be awesome. I would actually love to see what Bizarre would do with the Need For Speed series.

Bizarre Creations maddemy fst PS1gamhnal Formua On, I loved MSR and PGR as well. Hopefully something gets sorted for them.

2 words : Boby Kotick

I try to boycott Acti. as much as i did it with EA a few years ago.

Look what happend to EA : they changed because the boycott was really hurting them.

But as long as 13 year old jump on every COD that comes out, Bobby is happy and will screw customers over.

(COD = map pack 15 bucks / BFBC2 = Map pack free)

Sad for Bizarre because Blur was a good game ( i don't have it BTW, but a friend, mario kart for grown ups ;))

A shame that Blur didn't sell, it's easily one of the best arcade battle racers there is, extremely fun online! 👍

I think the failures of blur and bloodstone were more of Activisions fault. They timed Bloodstone to compete with Goldeneye and Blur against splitsecond and to some extent Red Dead.

You make a great point about them doing a NFS game. They can get more recognition going multiplatform. Yeah Blur wasn't bad it just didn't get enough fan backing.

I'm not surprised this happened because who would be mad enough to release Blood Stone and put up against Goldeneye, a remake of one of the best loved FPS and multiplayer games in history! I've been reading around the net that apparently Blood Stone absolutely bombed which is why the whole studio has been put on noticed although its not entirely their fault.

Who given the choice would buy Blood Stone?, I really don't get it. Goldeneye has been selling massively and has even beat Black Ops on the Wii sales chart. I was quite tempted to buy a Wii just for Goldeneye but with all this talk about a PS3 / 360 port not going away I will wait and see. Activision would make a shed load of money releasing it on these systems and they wouldn't even have to do much. Its very likely going to happen even if its a year away.

Is was greed which ruined Bizarre Creations because Activision didn't want to just have one bond game exclusive at the time.

Robin.

I actually think it was Activision's fault. It was Activision that release two bond games so close together. It was Activision that underplayed Blur and only kind of encouraged people to buy it. You've also got to remember their poor performance with the Tony Hawk series as of late. It's sad, 'cause Activision has released some great titles in the passed, but lately, they haven't been taking care of their bigger titles and companies. Sure, they're doing will with Guitar Hero, but GH has had several different developers, and from GH3 and 4, it's sales suffered.

I mean, Activision went from a company that one could expect great games from...too...crap. Both Blur and Blood Stone were decent games. It isn't Bizarre's fault if they don't sell that well. Selling a game is the job of the publisher, not the developer.
