Tell me that most championships don’t come down to the car.
I like to look at it like this, the Renault was said to be the best car in 2005, but if you take Alonso out of it that year and had Fisichella as the lead driver, would Renault still have won the championship? If you took Schumi out of the Ferrari and Barrichello was the lead driver, would Ferrari have won 5 consecutive championships? You need a great driver to win a championship no matter how good the car.

1996 and 1997. :p

I understand your point, though. If you’re lucky enough to be in a competitive car, you still need to be better than your team-mate to have a chance to win the title.

Still, no matter how good the driver, he needs a good car to be able to win.

I guess it’s a good thing that good drivers usually find their way into good cars. ;)

Good point. With due respect lets see Alonso in the McLaren next year and see how good he really is. To this arguement 45% goes to driver and 55% goes to the car. The car DOES have to put up with what the driver hands out.
