It's only a week or so away now. Who is going and who has been before?

1st time for me but I've been to the FOS a few times now.

iv been 3 years i think of it, its great :D sounds are amazing, and smells great too lol :p tons of great cars, countless gt40s too :D lightweight e-types and cobra coupes too  imo the best race is the st.marys trophy, flying minis and sliding huge jags :D

I'm going. I went for the first time last year. Advice: take something wind proof, it gets mighty cold just sitting by the track, especially if the wind is blowing hard, which it will.

I camped last year, and it was 2 degrees C at night, with a frost. So take plenty of warm clothes.

Oh, and don't forget: period dress! About 80% of the people who go will be dressed in 50s and 60s clothing. I don't know of any good shops for selling that sort of stuff (if you do or find any, let me know please!).

I will not be going to this year’s one, but I will look to go to the next one.

Is this the event that has the classic GT style cars being raced by guys like Dario Franchiti(sp.?), Emmanuale Pirro, and the like? If so I've seen it on Speed here in the States before. Not sure if they'll cover it this year as their coverage of proper motorsports events has been downsized.

@Stumpy - Quality picture, I hope that's what the whole day is like.

@Roo - We thought about going in period dress as mechanics but we are barely organised enough to get ourselves there (we only booked our tickets a few days ago)

Check out http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/ for info on the different race classes and drivers.

The Revival is one of my absolute favorite events to watch on Speed. I'll never forget watching the Iso Grifo A3L that won its class at Le Mans banging doors with a 250GTO (I believe Nick Mason's 250GTO) while holding off Cobras and DB4GT Zagatos.

I envy you, Millie, for getting a chance to go to the Revival. It's in my top 5 of events to go to before I keel over. Right behind the Indy 500, the Oswego Classic, and the Italian Gran Prix at Monza.

the few years i been i got into paddocks, thought you might like to see pic i took :D it gets very loud :scared: and if ya lucky you'l prob bump into some famous drivers jus walkin about

First day of the Revival and... I have no idea what it was like, because I spent all of last night and this morning throwing up, thanks to something dodgy I ate yesterday. Typical. Fingers crossed I should be OK for tomorrow.

What was it like, Milliethemutt?

It was great. The weather was foul but warm and that meant wet track which led to lots of action. The race between Rahal and Dayton in 2 old Brabhams was excellent with them swapping places every lap until Rahal went off with 1 or 2 laps to go.

I'll get some pics up later when I can sort the decent ones out. My camera had bother with the low light and rain, they are all a bit fuzzy but I'll put a few up when I get a chance. I've only just got back as we used a friends house in Basingstoke as a stopping off point and didn't leave until noon today.

Edit: I took some video with my phone but my mate took some with his decent (or at least a lot better than mine) camera so when he sends me them I'll put them up too.

Edit2: Check out the website in my post above for news and a few photos.

Had fun then? I got down there yesterday (got wet) and today (nice and dry). My highlight of the day has to be on the way home, about 25 miles from Goodwood, when I had pulled over to answer my phone; just finished my call, and one of the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagatos passed me! Managed to catch up with it, and got a (rather rubbish) photo to prove it. Photos are currently transfering from my camera onto the computer - I'll edit when I've got it.

Edit: it's here. The photo is better than I thought. And damn! I didn't realise how dirty my car was :indiff:

And proof it's the car I say it is - another picture I took before I left:

:D

That's real treat to see that out on the roads. Bet it sounded good in a built up area.

Edit: Added some pictures. Not the best but they give a general idea of what the weather was like. Hopefully videos soon - with sound!!! Which is what's important really.
