I know but you said it is modern.

Thus I responded with who defines what "modern" is

I personally do not like these 2D 4bit color logos used these days.

Generally I define modern by having a no fuss font, clean lines, minimalistic touches, that kind of stuff.

Modern in design is in general minimalist and new materials for the time, intended to favor function over form. It tends to go back to the 1920's with Bauhaus, Swiss style, and similar design movements of that era.

Something isn't cool until Apple does it. Or so the masses of sheep are under the impression. Just wait until they add a edge screen to the iPhone and everyone proclaiming it like its the second coming of Christ.

Having spent some time with the Galaxy S6 Edge, I have to say Samsung really, really screwed up the design on that to the point the phone is just irritating to use. Apple will likely implement it better, as in picking up the phone won't require fingernails to do and won't get hot enough to cook eggs.

I do love my Galaxy S6 edge and can see what you mean! Although I think judging on promotional material you are supposed to place the phone face-down on tables, then it is very easy to pick up. 👍

Which means you can't view incoming notifications when it is on your desk... It feels cheap compared to an iPhone, the edges are not comfortable for a rounded phone (my ancient Lumia 925 feels better in the hand) and the colors are wonky still.

If it cost $400, yeah it would make sense, but as an $800 flagship device it is kind of a joke. Though it does feel less cheap than previous Galaxy phones so good job Samsung... kind of.

Actually the edge screen is used to view notifications when the screen is faced down. It illuminates very well from what ive seen although I have no issues picking it up to be honest, fits my hands perfect. :)

Okay I don't mind the new logo. But do you have to make it so childish on Android? Why can't you just keep it simple?

I haven't a problem with the new logo. Not head-over-heels in love with it, but it's okay to me. Some of you probably know I find beauty in simplicity or in what others may consider bland or boring. Well, the new Google logo is pretty cool to me.

If you do not want the search bar get rid of it by using custom launcher.
I know. I can also get rid of it too in the settings because I'm using Cyanogenmod instead of stock Android. But I like having the search function there. I just wish it wasn't so colorful.

What launcher are you using? On Nova, you can change the style of the search bar.

Here are the current options you can have for search bars in nova, I cant say wheather to app developers will update the search bar looks, I did not include android 3.0s search bar as it does not have the voice search option and it is old as the hills, I personally like the look of 4.0.

Lucky google can take a joke.

If heineken copied apple, lawsuits would follow
Actually, Google copied Heineken with the slanted e. ;)

Google Netherlands responded: Inspired by the master. That is Freddy Heineken in this photo.

A pretty cool look at how small the new logo's footprint is.

The battery life of your device.

Meanwhile, my Samsung S4 would take an hour and half to reach from %100 to %0...and My old Samsung Ace would take only 30 minutes for the battery's to reach dead.

The first time i saw the change of that google logo made me dislike it a bit since i'm used to that "Catull typeface" Font. Later, i just felt fine with that change and just moved on with the change as it didn't bother me anymore.

On topic, The best Google logo was the in the early 2000's in my opinion but this is partly down to nostalgia.

The change doesn't bother me as most the of the time it changes annually or in celebration of an a anniversary in some sorts.
