Hi,

Just signed up and wanted to say hello.

I'm a gooner and looking forward to GT5 a lot! Going to be getting the G25 wheel around xmas time, and thought this looked like a good racing place to be, because I'll need tips to get fast :D

Anyway, hello :)

Gooner? I'm going to need some explanation on that!

Regardless, welcome to GTPlanet!

👍

I believe it has something to do with being an arse

nal supporter.

How'd that line break get there?

Welcome to :gtplanet:, snazy

Ha, yep big gooner, not big arse :) i.e. Arsenal fan.

One quick question, can you have your own avatar or is that for premium members?

Thanks

I'm a Gooner too. And people highlighting the "Arse" part of "Arsenal" ticks me off.

You have to get 100 posts before you can switch to a personal avatar.👍

And with Premium, you and change your name, then in 180 days you can change it again, have a avatar up to 120x120 pixels, and where it says "New Member" You can change that! But,when you get 500 with out Premium, you can change it.

BTW,Welcome to :gtplanet:!

100 posts and a minimum length of time, so going around making a lot of 1-liner posts just to reach 100 will not work and will only make us mad.

That being said, welcome to GTPlanet, and enjoy your stay with us. GT is much better when played with a wheel. 👍

I disagree :p

I'm much faster running a DS2 than my wheel (which was initially bought for GT4) and only use the wheel for PC sims now :p

He isn't talking about an increase in speed; rather, he means that the whole experience of GT is greatly enhanced when it is played with the controls of an actual car. With GT4, the effect is probably less, but with the advanced physics of GT5P and (in a few months) GT5, the feeling of getting feedback through the wheel and making actual gear changes with a clutch are impossible to replicate with a controller. I can't speak from experience, as I, too, use only a DS2, but I know that the purchase of a wheel is worth its cost from what countless members have reported.

See but after the sims, GT4 (as it's all I have) feels... Wrong, honestly, with a wheel. To the point it's a better overall experience just running the DS2 for me.

Of course, GT4's physics are terrible, so I'm not too surprised that you don't particularly like to play it with a wheel. Still, as for snazy20, he will be using his wheel to play GT5, which should benefit immensely from the G25 as opposed to the Sixaxis or the DS3.

Interesting comments on wheel vs pad for lap times!

Thanks for clearing up the avatar question too :)

Going to order the g25 from dabs today, but won't use it till xmas :( Are there any racing games you guys recommend to go with it? I have prologue and will be playing that a lot with it...but wondered if GRID or another title would be good to play with the wheel? Or hold off till GT5?
