I'm going to have to get off my arse and build my own computer then get off my arse again and get those games. Damn this laggy computer with its amazing 2336 3DMarks.

I got 10,000+ on 3DMark 2001 SE. I want to get them but I'm a bit tight for money at the moment. I know my mum won't get them for me because she just spent $200 on clothes for me today.

i got simcity 4 a couple of weeks ago, but it runs pretty sluggish on mine when you get a medium sized city, so i havent played all that much, Downloading the latest patch now cus apparently they fixed Loads of bugs and stuff.
yeah it is a great game, but is is definiatly the hardest to get into than the others.

actualy.. heres an interesting screenshot of what happend when the screensaver came on while simcity was running, i moved the mouse and it left a kind of imprint..

I have Sim City 3000 Unlimited but I don't play all that much, because whenever I do, my city always starts off with crappy land value and I can never get my city running well.

I have sim city 4.. Its too damn hard! Its also WAY too laggy. It lags on even the best of systems...

Try reading through the FAQs/guides at www.gamesfaq.com - they're a big help. I think it's much easier to get towns going in SC4 compared to SC3 - I never got into SC3, for some reason, too micro-managing for my tastes.

Re the lagging - it's MUCH better once you install the two patches EA have put up for it. I'm running a 1.7 Athlon with 768 meg of RAM and a crummy old Ge Force 2 video card (next in the list of updates....) and my town of 35,000 is running fine - just a couple of minor graphic lags when you change views.

I think SC3K was harder than SC4. I was always in the red and never made a profit. With SC4, I actually made a profit with one of my cities.

My system never lagged so much that the game become un-playable. I'm sure the 2nd patch will solve the lagging problems.

I had the same problem in SC3K - I produced these high-pollution, in perpetual budget-crisis hellholes. Consistently and without fail.

I might go back to and it in a little while, just to see if my skills have improved - but then again, maybe I won't, I'm enjoying the regional play too much.
