I don't know how but I got a gold on my most hated track in ANY type of racing game.

I wish other people were in the room when I did this but ohhhhhhhh. this is why I love the McLaren F1 GTR Race Car!

All I want is a pat on the back but that'd be asking for too much I guess lol.

I did it with the McLaren GTR and the Fairlady Concept race car, just find a race line that you're comfortable to 👍

I too hate the ring! Le mans and Spa are so much better.

It took me some time and many laps, but I'm now hooked. The Nordschleife is so much fun! Having eventually won it with cars like the Mclaren and Ford GT LM Spec II and several down tuned high end cars, I'm now running it with lower pp cars and having so much fun. Every time I run it I see another point where I can possibly gain some time.

The green hell is probably the last of its kind, long, dangerous, uneven, infinitely complex, but so is Spa on the other side of the forest!
Didn't think you could like one and not the other...

The tracks are so very different remembering every corner is a challenge to most nevermind what the perfect line is through them all. I find spa a very good track but no where near as complex as the ring. I won the trophy for beating 7.29 in arcade mode in a nissan gtr 07 around the ring yesterday it is an awesome track.

I've been watching Formula 1 for over 50 years, mostly on TV, but also film Video, DVD and online.

Spa was one of the circuits the drivers all talked about, the best, most challenging, hardest etc. Having driven it with very high performance Sports cars I can see why.

The Nordschleife circuit was the one where we got pictures of airborne GP cars and very poor moving coverage, due to its length I'd guess. Having driven it with some really fast cars I can see why they stopped using it in GPs and why everyone, back in the day it was on the F1 calendar, talked about the difficulty. It's hard to learn, but well worth the effort.

I use to hate the ring when I was rookie... because the crashes, the spins, and my slow times; but then I has readed a post here at GTP that explain me a simple way to master the ring (the amg special event).
That event has made me love the ring.

It seem to be the right place to start: Such a long track is better learned in splits...

Agree the AMG Academy is a good starting place. I spent a fair amount of time on it, going back every now and then until I started to put together clean(ish) laps! After that it's just a matter of driving it often enough to become familiar with the thing!

Because of that event I can now drive faster in the wet than in the dry. :dunce:

I agree with you, well done for simply enduring a race on the ring. I get half way around it and want to leave I don't know why but it's just boring to me, I prefer short tracks with technical corners like London and Cote d'Azur because when you do a fast clean lap around one of these tracks you feel as if you have achieved something.

My Top 5:

1. Suzuka (full track, love the twisty part)
2. Cote d'Azur
3. London
4. Nurburgring GP F
5. Eiger Nordwand

My Bottom 5:

1. Nurburgring (the one without the pit lane)
2. Cape Ring (full track)
3. Spa
4. Grand Valley Speedway
5. Fuji Speedway

I thought all the layouts had the pit lanes?

I've enjoyed using the premium JGTC cars: GTR Yellowhat, Nismo Xanavi, Motul Autech etc. My latest victory was with the Castrol Toms Supra. All of them are great to drive especially in cockpit view.

We are almost exact opposites. I prefer the big tracks and despise the little cramped ones. My top and bottom...

Top 5

1. The Nur (in any configuration)
2. Spa
3. Sarthe (in any configuration)
4. Grand Valley
5. Indy Road Course

Bottom 5

1. London
2. Madrid (especially the short course)
3. Cape Ring (Only because of the circle, love the jump!)
4. Cote D'Azur
5. Suzuka

I keep using this event to gain credits and it's interesting do it with loads of different cars. At first I did it at first with the McLaren f1 gtr but I just got some of the dlc and wanted to try it out with those cars. I find the easiest is the Nissan GTR TC edition.

I tried to do it in the vantage V10 but it's just not fast enough overtake the f1 at #1. I did with with the aventador after about 30 tries since you have to be fast but not make any mistakes. Easy to come #2 but not #1

The ring is awesome.. tried it in a loctite nsx for the new seasonal event and it was great fun! fell off the track at nearly 190 at the end of the long straight just before of the end of the lap but still managed a sub 7 min lap time on the first go!

As long as you have a car that is forgiving on the bumpier sections its a log of fun.. I've even started playing on the longer 24h layout which i used to hate before..

There is actually talk that Bruton Smith (a track owner/promoter) in America is looking to make an exact replica/model of the Nord out in the desert of Las Vegas. Wouldn't have a lot of green, but would be interesting to see if he pulls it off.

- There's always one.... laughing so hard my leg fell fell off.

Nurburgring one of the best circuits out there if you can't master this beast (you need practice), something isn't quite right. Spa is another of my favourites but I must confess I am not familiar. Nur I know all the corners in lots of diff types of cars etc I haven't totally found a fluid rythmn all the way through the Spa circuit without mullahiing it yet lol. I haven't hammered it enough to be able to drive it "in my head" like most of the other circuits particularly Nurb.

I love the Ring, Golded it easily. It's my favourite track. So many corners and when you nail that perfect lap with no mistakes and know you've gone as fast as you possibily can it's the most rewarding feeling!

I couldn't agree more, did 1 lap in Mobil 1 NSX railing all the rubbing strips flat out yet in control and pimped the Gold first lap - It's great being me ha ha.

Need to unpack wheel again to push it with a less predictable car with the driving aids off for a challenge and 30 secs off my time.
