Could a member of GTP Admin team please explain why i got a warning for the following.

I posted on a topic in the photo forum saying nice picture's and also voted on the one i thought was best.

I also put 3 pictures that i have taken at the bottom of my post with a message saying i have a good collection of cars if anyone would like to loan the cars to take photo's pm me.
(Trying to help other members )

The warning i got was for spamming and not in topic.

All i did was vote on a topic put my say in and let other GTP uses have the chance of taking pictures of my cars.

I am not an admin, however

"I also put 3 pictures that i have taken at the bottom of my post with a message saying i have a good collection of car if anyone would like to loan the cars to take photo's pm me."

You tried to change the subject of the thread. So you were not in topic.

Moved to the correct forum.

I've seen the PM attached to your warning. What, precisely, needs explaining?

So in the future dont post on a topic and offer your assistance in anyway ?

I can understand if i was saying come trade with me.

All i posted was let me know if you need any cars to take photos of as i have a huge selection availible.

Seems a little harsh and after you gave my son a warning for his spelling
(He is dyslectic)

And now me for trying to help other members.

No-one has ever received a warning on GTP for their spelling. Ever.

Other than that, I'm afraid I can't understand what the issue is. You received a warning, the reason for that warning was explained in the PM attached to it - I've seen it, as have all the staff - and I don't know what it is you want explaining further.

I've gotten several warnings in the month I've been registered.

Over-moderators...

Ok i wont try and help again.

I'm curious where you're dragging these conclusions from. I haven't actually said anything for you to draw any conclusions. I'm just asking you to explain what the issue you have is that required you to start a new thread (in the GT5 Q&A forum) about it.

As for my son the warning was for bad grammer (SPELLING MISTAKE)

That's not a surprise - decent grammar is required by the AUP, particularly from our anglophonic members. And you should know the AUP pretty well by now - you've agreed to it twice after all.

I've gotten several warnings in the month I've been registered.

Don't break the rules and you don't get warned for breaking the rules.

Over-moderators...

Sure, it's our fault that you read the rules, agreed to them and then broke them.

Which is why you had to stick your oar into someone else's thread to complain about "over-moderators", who've had to remove obscenities and homophobia from your posts.

I was shocked at the warning message as i was trying to help other members of gtp.

If i was trying to put a post up to trade i would have put it up in the (MARKETPLACE)

Now as for my son dont get me started i have had to fight in his corner for many years.

I know my way around NETWORK POLICY & USAGE RIGHTS as i run a server company.

It is in no way acceptable to discriminate against anyone with a disablilty
EU,UK,US law all stand for this.

All i want to know is in what way did i

Dear Viper-No-1-,

You have received a warning at GTP Forums.

Reason:
-------
Useless Post / Spam

Warning for a spam post. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. If you wish to trade cars for whatever purpose, then please use the Marketplace subforum.

I voted on the topic
I put a post saying

Some Really nice picture's there.

I have put a list of my cars up on the Photomode Forum.
I am happy to loan these to members to take picture just pm me please.

Now if i understand English i have not said come trade with me however i have said here is my list if you want them i will loan them to you.

IN NO WAY HAVE I CHANGED SUBJECT AND IN NO WAY AM I SPAMMING.

I have only been on these forums for a short time and im discusted with the way i have been treated after trying to help out.

Which you have done many times.

No-one is discriminated against on GTP - it's even in the AUP. However, members are required to read and agree to the AUP before they are able to sign up. If they do not feel they are willing, or able, for any reason to adhere to the rules they should not agree to them. We will not discriminate against members who actually abide by the rules by allowing those who do not to behave as they wish rather than as they agreed to.

Further to this, many of the staff are specialists in the area of SEN, particularly dyslexia. One member of the staff is in fact severely dyslexic themselves.

All i want to know is in what way did i:

I'll draw a comparison for you.

Thirty to forty times a day we have messages of a certain type coming through the moderaton queue. This type of message is four or five lines long and is posted in either a very dead thread or a very active thread, wholly discussing the topic. Within this post will be a link - either inline or at the end (sometimes as a signature) - to somewhere else on the internet. These posts are deleted on sight (members rarely see them at all) and the poster banned for advertising.

Back to your post. Your posts was four or five lines long and posted in a very active thread, wholly discussing the topic. At the end were some pictures and an invitation to come look at what you have for trade.

Now, you weren't banned for advertising, but that's what your post was - an advert for your trade threads. As a tool, it's quite clever - so are the actual advertisers - but it's not acceptable to attempt to divert a thread for your own self-promotion. You were warned and, as the part of the message you didn't quote says, "Warnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow.". You're not under any more threat of losing your membership right now that you were two hours ago.

I have only been on these forums for a short time and im discusted with the way i have been treated after trying to help out.

In what way have you been treated? You did something wrong and a moderator prompted you not to do it again. You're acting like we've set fire to your hair, when all you got was a Warning.

Take five. Relax. Have yet another look through the AUP. Adjust your posting style to meet it. We have about 6,000 active posting members and the majority of them manage to stick by it day in, day out. I'm sure as a father who has set rules out for his son you can appreciate the need for the rules and the enforcement of them and that you can stick to them after having agreed to do so.

I just happened upon this thread because it was the most recent post in this subforum therefore it was visible on the main page.

I am a mod at a different site and I'm going to side with the mods.

Site rules. If it's a rule here, then you follow it. You don't have usage rights on private property, which is what this site is. Jordan has put the moderators in place to enforce the forum rules which granted, are more strict than other sites on average. However, this produces a high quality, presentable forum.

Not once have I received a warning or even negative attention from any mod, and you can look at my profile and see how long I've been here. It's because I follow the forum rules which I agreed to when I signed up.

Don't take it personally. This is a very, very busy forum relative to others and the available moderators at any given time are volunteering their personal time to do all this. They have to deal with a lot of situations. When the moderators contacted you, all you had to do was say to yourself, "Ok", and moved on. They're just trying to keep a clean, organized forum.

Cheers. :)
