So I just read that the GPS course creator won't be available in the US:

http://www.imotortimes.com/gran-tur...al-reality-and-your-daily-commute-video-21289

"However, the Gran Turismo 6 course maker GPS visualizer has its limits. Track area cannot be any larger than 20 x 20 kilometers. What's more, while Gran Turismo can accurately map your route, it will not have the ability to recreate roadside scenery. Instead, the tracks will be built upon Gran Turismo's general environmental themes. As for the greatest limit of all, the GPS Visualizer will not be featured in the U.S. versions of Gran Turismo 6. Hopefully, Polyphony changes its mind."

IMO this is definitely a limiting move on PD's part... having said that, does anyone know if this feature will be available in the Canadian version?

Wow, didn't expect that!

I expect there will be quite a few unhappy people, I would really like to know their reasoning.

The best roads are in Europe and Japan though, I guess. :D

That's REALLY disappointing. Build it up and then remove it from one region.

I'm sure PD have their reasons. They wouldn't just black out an entire country of a brand new feature. There might be some legal bindings behind this (?)

They seem to be confused. They were talking about and saying GPS Visualizer, and that is the Scion FR-S ECU GPS thing, and the course maker is the app. They were using the two GPS features very confusingly to say which one will not be in the US. I don't believe the GPS Visualizer will be available in the US because the Scions with special ECUs are only available in Japan, and the GPS Course Maker will be available.

Wow! Me and a couple of my buddies had planned roadtrips for the Dragon, Blood mountain, and mount cheeha. This blows.

Let's hope you're right...

But that doesn't make sense still. Then in theory the entire app would be a Japan exclusive. Is the app only available in one country or is it going to be via download elsewhere in everywhere but the US?

SCEA thinks kids will be stealing their parents cars and driving around the roads directly surrounding their schools like lunatics?

Maybe they want to avoid news headlines like "College student tears up football field trying to recreate it for Gran Turismo 6 - Mows down coach in the process"

Yay! Living in New Zealand has finally paid off! :p

But still, it's quite odd to block out America. Maybe it was a legal problem, Mr Obama and his cage full of rabid action movie actors felt that it was a bad idea when they heard about it.

We'll just have to wait and see if this is true (the America GPS thing, not the rabid action actors)

I believe that possibly, there could be different versions of the app for different regions, say "North America" and "Japan." Also, doesn't the Visualizer just use the ECU in the FR-S and the flash drive, and not an app?

He definitely seems to be mixing the features up. The link at the beginning of the paragraph even takes you to the Visualizer. I'll wait for more info before making a judgement.

It's mentioned in the news section, GPS Visualizer is different from GPS course creator. The event in Willow Springs was to show off GPS Visualizer not GPS course creator.

The writer thought GPS Visualizer and the GPS course creator was the same thing.

Wouldn't put it past the US.

Sounds to me like you're right. I remember reading that the GPS ecu data thing was going to be available on some japanese gt-86 models for now only and it seems that's what they are referring to.

Take everything with a grain of salt. As others have mentioned, it's probably just a mix up of features. If it's not, then that really is disappointing, but I sure we'll know for sure soon enough.

But the Scion FRS is the same car, except left wheel drive.

This is an article about the Course maker, it says nothing about limitations, and they spoke with
PDs North American producer about it, so I find it highly likely that it's still in. Heres two quotes that I found interesting in the article.

"The Course Maker — coming out on iOS and Android sometime after GT6′s Western launch"

"players will be able to add scenery to the environment themselves after they upload their information."

The author has no clue what he's talking about. Uses a DeltaWing image when it has been out of the game for many days now, then completely confuses the Data Visualizer and Course Creator.

I want to agree with you 'cause that's what I would like to hear.

But the visualizer only works with a new Toyota CPU that has only been put into some JDM GT-86s' so far.

But they had 3 FRS's at willow springs. :p The video PD officially released (I think)... the news page headline of the drifter, is an FRS. Scion is owned and operated by Toyota if I remember correctly. :)
