its been on sale for a while now but just not in north america. When i went to Japan this summer, it was already on sale.

i also believe from the best of my memory that you need a umd disk. I think it contains information of the area you're in. I may be wrong on this though.

If you have a custom firmware, you can download maps onto your memory stick and use it using MapThis! (I think that's what it's called)

Such a good idea because then you can have you PSP as everything on the go, your satnav, console, AV collection player and even your phone (using the new Skype integration!)...

Robin.

TV too, if you live in Japan.
They have already released a 1-seg TV tuner for the PSP but it will only work in Japan.

:tup:Wow, Sony! 👍

GPS on the PSP, I'm impressed.I keep hearing all these incredibly neat features it has, and I'm not considered a gamer freak. But I wants one so badly! :)

interesting, but, id rather have it be able to connect to a wireless isp/3g network so i can surf the internets/stream music anywhere and not just in a hot spot.

Could the PSP get an attachment in the future to connect to WiMax? Or is WiMax more so for connecting to a house arieal? Sorry if that seems a strange or stupid question but I know very little about WiMax or the PSP's features and I'm interested in both.

Does anyone have any word on this coming to the US? If it isn't coming I wish Sony would just say so. If not I will just buy one on its own.

I have the GPS on my PSP - but its a HUGE file.. but I have custom firmware, because the US version will not work with the japanese reciever otherwise. I like it; but I need more maps.
