How would you rate Gran Turismo 5

90 because I have played it most days for over two years now. I had to laugh at all the comments back at the beginning judging the game after a few hours of playing, totally ignoring the OP's request to: "Please spend ample time on the game before voting..."

I give it a 50 on release because they released an well unpolished game try not doing an update to 1.01 in see what kind of game they released, but they improved on the game since release so as of now il give my gt a solid 90

I gave it 70. The OP excellently describes my reasoning why - (it's good, but not the epic game I expected it to be).

I gave it a 100

I've only had the game for six weeks now and have to say its perfect.
Before GT5 I raced Real Racing Two on iPad , for a year I enjoyed it, then EA Sports released Real Racing 3, not for me, you can't race with real people, no fun in that.

GT5 was what I was looking for, I have over $800.00 in my rig, money well spent.
I've met some good people online, hope to see other forum members in the near future.
Btw. My race I.D is MrHot88

I gave it a 70. Yes, it's a good game. But nowhere near as fun as GT4 was when it was released, that's for sure. I had a difficult time adapting to the game, and when I say "game", I mean just that. Somehow, GT4 didn't seem as limited as GT5 does.

The online aspect leaves much to be desired, due to the sort of users, and that in part is PD's fault, because I think they must have thought they could get away with the offline part of the game not being as detailed as it should be. But after you see most lobbies are either drag racing, drifting, or high-speed racing, with barely any limitations, you realize they were probably wrong.

Not to mention AI is not as fast as one would like it to be, and there's some polishing problems that could have made the game much more bearable. For example, being able to skip the pit-stop at one of the NASCAR special events (it sucks so much to fail it and having to wait another minute to have a chance). Plus the strange fact that ASM is active in some of the races, taking away a lot of fun, possibly trying to make the race harder, but at the end, making it come out as a child's play that nobody actually wants to play.

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum! :)
Anyway, I'm level 34 now on GT5 A-Spec, and have put enough hours into the game to give it a rating. I would give an 80 or 85, simply because, despite its obvious shortcomings (standard cars, lack of tracks, poor AI etc), I just keep coming back to it! I own Forza 4 and Horizon too, yet for some strange reason, even though they are arguably a better package, GT5 has a replay-ability factor, that I just don't get from other racers! I just love setting some laps at the 'Ring and doing the endurance races, as well as online racing, and even B-Spec!

Welcome to :gtpflag:!

And I'm with you, it has it's faults but it's still got a lot of positive pull to it.

Welcome to GTPlanet.
I too love the replay and the idea of it letting us save a race, really cool.

I don't think that's quite what he meant by "replay-ability."

I'll give it a solid B. Kaz, admits GT5 is incomplete and not the way he wanted to submit the game to the masses.

Rating GT5 by seeing if it has advanced from GT1:
A- More manufacturers, more tracks, excellent graphics, online community.
C- no livery editor not enough visual customisation, AI lacks "intelligence", lack of depth to GT MODE challenges

I'm still playing GT5 but, we want more. I think we'll get more. We just have to wait for GT6.

I'll give it a solid 60. It is better than some of the other racing games I've played, but not nearly as good as the previous 4 games in the series. Many features that previous games in this series had are still missing from this title, and there is still a lot room for improvement.

It is fun, but the game does still feel incomplete, even after 20+ updates and well over 40 USD worth of DLC.

Hahaha!

Replays are nice, but I was referring to always wanting to get back on the game and drive some more!

Yeah that's what I thought.

I believe somebody thought you meant you like to watch replays and I thought I might inform him that you meant something slightly different.

Yeah I saw, guess I didn't word it very well at first! :)

70 or 75 due to some insanely glaring UI issues & start position in events

otherwise the driving feels great, the gfx limitations are there due to ps3 limitations, no prob

I give it a 7/10. For me, the car list was upsetting. For a game that took so long to develop, they could have done so much more. I really liked Forza a lot more, but I just don't like XBOX Live. I do think the "physics" of GT are superior to Forza though.

Wow, weird seeing everyone having different issues with GT5.

My biggest gripe was a lazy attempt at A-spec mode. That is why I gave it a 70.

I don't play sims no matter how good they are, I play video games and this one was borderline, technically a game. Shame on you PD...
