May wait unti next month or 2 to get this game now, just thought. Got some good PC games coming out, that i rather get.

Plus those Xbox 360 games.

So since it came out today, anyone played it? bought it?
Me and loving it. :D

I must admit, it is great to have that freedom on a handheld. The graphics are like GTA 3, the controls are a little more difficult because of the absence of the R3/L3 buttons, but it's still great. Framerate drops a bit more than GTA 3, but it doesnt bother me and most of the time is OK. You get alot of ghosting (like a blur coming from moving things), but you get used to that too.

Edit: Oh yes, I forgot to add that battery life is dreadful. It's quite disapointing...

Nice one! so hows the missions? hows the sound? whats the cars like and is it good with the motorbike or is the handling dodgy ?

I've noticed in driving the braking/acceleration isnt pressure sensitive, so when you oversteer it is tricky. The sound is awesome, so awesome I had to turn it down in shops not to piss anyone off. :D The missions, I havent really done yet. I've done two, but they were in the shops so I havent got the real feel for it yet.

Not done any missions yet, i never played GTA3 so the city is new to me. At the moment i am just cruising around looking for hidden packages (got 24 up to now) and trying to learn the city layout.

Its VERY hard to get used to the camera and the " nub" and the whole controll system...frikin frustrating it is..I like to take a chain saw to the morons who devised the camera angle change scheme...using the buttons on the same side as the buttons to move the player..its crazy ! I'm still laughing my ass off at the dialog , sounds etc. Like when you shoot someone off a bike and the guy goes flying..the squish from running stuff over..and the French dude on the talk station..ahhh GTA nothing like it .

Well i played this on friday - my friend picked up a copy, i felt the loading times were pretty bad but they are worth it!

e.g. when i got a cop car it took 10-15 secs to load vigilante mode - which also took me a minute to find out how to turn it on (up button on d-pad)

Also the system to look around the car and to do drive by shootins will be hard to get used to! (hold L-button then use analogue stick) so you cant steer whilst you do a drive by!!!

I also kept changing radio stations whilst wondering why my car wasnt steering! as i was using the d-pad in mistake of the analogue stick (i find the analogue stick in a weird position)

Other than this - the game is excellent, the graphics are amazing - no lag during play at all! Radio stations are excellent - sound quality and i think the feature to play your own tracks will be good when i convert the files! think i better get my own PSP soon or my mate will be charging me!

You know in the menu you can change some of the controls right? There is an option to change analog stick to the directional buttons. :)

^hehe, why won't you pay that much? *Cough* ISO's wont' work *Cough* firmware 2.0 is needed *Cough* ;)

This is a game i don't mind paying for anyway,as it's GTA and it's a;ways nice to own a pallatable version of something, it gives more 'worth'. Shame i'll need to update my psp to 2.0 to play it though :(

Edit - Good to know Rise FM is back! Just need to wait to Friday whn it's released here.
Yes it does work.. As so many games. Burnout Legends needed 2.0 to, well, I played the ISO's for looooong time man. Just recieved my 4GB HDD so I'll tell you soon if it works or not.. I downloaded GTA LCS a while ago..

It doesnt work, its been tried many times already. It requires 2.0. If a game cant use the UMD swap then it wont work any other way.

Many guesses lead to the game using the 2.0 codecs for audio and video that are not in 1.xx

Well thats a relief - i think i'd rather use the d-pad for steering as i find the analogue stick in a weird place! 👍

have to admit i tried Need for speed most wanted after trying to rent it from blockbuster for two weeks. I wasnt going to pay $50 for this. If it were $30 I may have. If the price so how goes down i would buy it. EA PSP games seem to have the least amount of effort put into them. The cars in ridgeracer have more polygons than in NFSMW and it runs 60fps. I had to play it because this verison has my car in it, Mazda 3 5-door.

It was the only time I have done this only becuase it was never in stock at blockbuster. But its not $50 quality software. Its a $50 EA game that fits the whole game including video and music on to a 256mb MS. Shame on EA for making such a tiny game. I did it after reading about it.

I bought GTA LC and its a great game, but I am getting bored of it quicker as I know the city so well, its not new to me.

Im not bored of it but I am missing the exporation that im used to with all the other GTA's so far. (I know somethings have changed)

i just ummm... "borrowed" this game after i played at my friend's house and liked it. it's great fun, especially with that cheat device. it also allows you to take screenshots (i'll take a few later if i get it working) and make animated GIFs of what you did. it also allows you to clock your PSP to 333mhz so it can run smoother as well (lower battery life though). the game feels a lot like GTA3 imo.

BTW, there is a way to play an iso of, to reduce load times and some battery consumption.
