It's intentional as it's not got a closed top/lower quality model.
Is there a patch/mod available to allow special vehicles like the NC MX-5 usable in events other than the event synthesizer?

Such patch/mod would also be good for allowing concept cars to compete in events they qualify for like FR / FF / MR / minimum HP.

Today I made a point to install the GT4 Spec II mod, and get the Logitech G923 working in G Hub, which turned out to be a bit of a headache until I found juuuuust the right older G Hub build (the recommended versions of G Hub were not working for me). I eventually got it working in GT4 Spec II with FFB, and.... Sweet Mother Mary! It's like I'm falling in love with GT4 all over again. The AI isn't exactly ideal, but experiencing all the old tracks like El Capitan, Grand Valley (the good version), Tokyo Route 246, Midfield, Autumn Ring, Grand Canyon, Tahiti Maze, etc... it's just magical.

I'm loving all the new engine sounds, the quality of life improvements (like a quick menu for navigation), the new rim choices, the event synthesizer, etc... Even the FFB (while a bit on the light side) is very communicative.

It is so very nice to be able to come back to a beloved game from my mid 20's and still be able to derive so much enjoyment from it 20 years later. I have huge respect for the individual who put this mod together. Solid on all counts.

I just logged back in for the first time in about 12 years to sing my praises for the Spec-II mod, completely refreshed my GT4 experience - nice one Admeister

I also had some unbelievable odds with the randomizer, I won a white Impreza V4 STI and used it to beat the 'Stars of Pleiades' to win...

A white Impreza V3 STI

Tell me, please, how can i make them run on my emulator
You need to put them in the cheats folder of your PCSX2 emulator by naming them with the CRC Hash with a .pnach (in this current case, you name the wordpad document 646B2E29.pnach . Then you need to go the game properties menu of the emulator then you need to go to the the open lock picture with an infinite logo on it. Your cheats should be there, all you need to do at this point is click on the spot at the right of the screen once and its backdrop should turn blue.

Do be sure to check for changes in the CRC Hash with the updates that will come as sometimes it can change.

I use aether sx2, do you think it's the same thing to make them work?

Is event synthesizer on Test Course a planned feature? Would be fun doing high speed races on it

Also an option for other tire treads on the Formula Gran Turismo would be sweet!

Ok I'm here to ask something a little bit absurd.
Is there a pnach code for 1 lap only for GT4OPB.
I've been looking for that code since day one.

While the codes are effective only in arcade mode, it would be cool to implement some of those in Spec II. Maybe faster AI, extended braking zones, and hybrid power. The stock turbos from GT3 could also make for challenging races.

Can you help me get my old gt4 cheats to work? I can't get them to work on spec II no matter what, even if I use chatgpt
Normal GT4 cheats don't seem to work for Spec II since GT4 Online Beta is not the same game despite still being GT4. Normal GT4 was released in 2005, while Online Beta is another similar game released in 2006.

Been playing this a lot to relive my youth and I love it!

1 question, has anyone noticed the race bgm seems to be the same few songs? I can't remember if the base game has a similar small pool of songs? But on Spec 2 mod it always seems to be 1 of 6 or 7 songs each race.

I always assumed most people shut the music off (as I have). It just gets in the way of various audio cues that are useful in being competitive. Beyond that, even with a large music library, the music gets stale pretty quick IMHO. To each their own, of course. Your mileage may vary.

Do you have any working cheats or do you know where can I find some? I enjoy having cheats for fun, also, @TheAdmiester said on the website:

"Q: Why don't my emulator cheats work anymore?

A: Spec II makes comprehensive changes to the game's disc image and executable, which has resulted in it having a different CRC hash when played in an emulator. Simply rename your cheat file(s) so that they start with the new CRC hash for Spec II: 4CE521F2"

but on the same website we can find some patch notes:

"Version 1.09

2025-03-14 - DOWNLOAD

NEW CRC HASH - please rename any PCSX2 cheats, changing 73FEFB84 to 646B2E29

NOTE: Randomizer prizes have been shuffled in 1.09 due to changes to the prize pool list. Existing seeds will no longer award the same prizes as previous versions."

Wouldn't this imply that cheats from original GT4 can be used into this version? or did he mean cheats for the online beta? although I can't really find a good source for Online Beta cheats as well, so it's confusing.
