1.What ways can you set-up your car?, is it like 15 points pressure at the left demper and stuff or is it just downforce low, high, medium shockers soft, stiff ect.

2.And how long does it takes to make an good setup? weeks? or days hours?

3.Also i like to know, if you tune the car, do you have to adapt the car to get it riht again, or is it still perfect (realism fact)

4. If you have good set -ups for cars a youi can post them here

plz state:

1. Name of car
2. Circuit
3. Conditions (wet, dry, ho, cold ect.)
4. What degree of tuning( for example tires: nothing, suspension race ect.)
5. The driving style: Aggressive driving or Medium driving style(between aggressive and calculated) or Calculated driving style.
6.Gears and Gearbox type ( for example 7 gears, manual gearbox)

This way we can help each other to get good basic set ups and you only have to make minor adjustments.

1. Like how GT3 was - numbers 1-10 for dampers bound/rebound, ride height in mm

2. It's taken me about 2 hours to try and get the Cizetta to handle, and I'm still having problems with the understeer

3. What do you mean??

This is a question that people can't really answer for you, you have to figure it out for yourself. Car setups are unique to the driver.. what works for me probably won't work for you.

Also, think about what you're asking for.. setups are also unique for every car, for every track... so for each user on these forums, there could be somewhere around thirty-five thousand setups. And you want us to post them?

Definitely! The last time I posted a set up, it was for an Impreza in GT2. I received many complaints that the top end was too low, the wheelspin was excessive, and it could understeer in the middle of a spin. However, for those of us who like to turn a drift into a drag-launch on a short, twisty course, and/or go 15-20 laps without a tire change, it was perfect.

Yes indeed, ps question 3 : i heard there was an wet tsukabu included, so maybe other tracks are also wet?

lol, i dont understand half of the set ups u can do :D whats the 2nd option when u click the little weight icon?i know one of them is where to put the weight

I don't know about setup. I don't usually change things because I don't know really what I'm doing - more often than not it makes things worse.

In terms of driving style I have a good idea. I like to brake late, carry on braking and steering into the corner, and use oversteer to shorten the corner. I know how to set a car up for oversteer, but I'm not so sure how to set a car up for late braking.

For maximum control, it is usually best to use stiffer springs on the end of the car with the most weight.
However, an optimal spring rate in the front of a front-engined car can always be found. This can remain static as you experiment with the rear springs to find a setting that allows you to drive the way you desire.
Mid/rear-engined cars are a bit trickier to set-up, especially if you wish to always oversteer or drift which is difficult to control in those types of cars.

KSaiyu, do you mean the Cizeta V16 car is in the game?

To get more top speed, the easiest thing to do is adjust the final drive ratio to a LOWER number. This will give you longer gears (more time between shifts)
Also, adjusting the top gear will give you more speed.
Just remeber, a higher top speed doesn't necessarily mean a faster lap time.

looks like a lambo and a testarosa had some fun about 9 months later that popped out

Actually, from what I understand, this was originally a design for the Diablo. They declined it, so the designer made it himself.

i didnt bother to verify what u said, but.. i guess i'll trust u. :dopey: cool info. That has happened a lot with designers. :)

So, back to Darts original question:
How detailed are the setup options?
can you adjust camber, toe, tire pressure, stifness progression rebound and damping, ride hieght, wing angle on cars with wings?
Maybe someone can give a screenshot of the manual if their listed all on one page?

Thanks

Another good technique for this (especially with massively powered cars) is to lengthen out your first gear by a long margin as usually you end up with a load of wheel spin and not much else in first... so lengthen it out reduces the wheel spin and that means that you can extend all your other gears without really losing much from their stock settings...

One quick question? Can you adjust your Reverse gear settings in GT4?

There are new options - like ASM over/understeer and Ballast weight, but nothing on tyre temps and pressures.

I ussually choose for an little understeered car, so the car will not get loose when tyres edecline, is this still necesserary in GT4 or are the tyres now adapted to last longer (cause in f1 2000 the tyres where gone after 3 laps)
